To be honest there are many new flora and fauna found every year. Mostly in the rainforest and also because of habitat destruction, some may never be discovered or seen again. =/

The discovery of Mega-fauna is always good to hear however!

I have heard of the albino humpback whale before, but not the Giant Isopod. :eyebrow:

Yes, it does seem that we hear about these "new" discoveries rather often these days. I still find it all amazing that they have been "undiscovered" for so long.

I just glanced through the article, but it seems like it's just a fossil. I'm not surprised that they're still finding ancient remains from the prehistoric age, but if it's being called Nessie, then perhaps Nessie's just extinct?

The number of things out there still waiting to be found is amazing. I saw on the news tonight that for the first time, a dinosaur fossil that included the skin had been found. No one has ever really known for certain what the dinosaurs looked like, but thanks to the fossilized skin, they can tell this one had stripes on it's tail.

I've never liked rats and most rodents. :irked:

Though I do think that chinchillas are cute. The cat thing is interesting, though. I've never heard of any kind of animal that glows in the dark.

I don't like rats either, but I found the story interesting. It's amazing to think that there are still new species of mammals out there that are completely unafraid of humans.

I find the cat story somewhat disturbing. One the one hand there's the "ooo, glow in the dark kitties" factor. On the other, this is a product of both cloning and genetic tinkering. I'm not sure how to feel about that.
