Walmart sells caskets

Walmart is now selling caskets and urns:

Why not?......They sell almost everything else.

That's kind of an odd thing for a department store to sell. I suppose the prices are probably a lot more reasonable that some funeral homes, though. Funerals are insanely expensive these days, so anything that can reduce those costs is a good thing.

Most funeral homes have a standard policy in the funeral contract that you must buy the casket through them.

Still, I know it's Wal*Mart, but this is really distasteful even for them. Got to wonder if the 10% employee discount is valid on these items.

According to the article linked above, they legally have to accept a casket bought elsewhere.
