And another great video, dear Bragatyr ! And like the others, your voice is great ! Honnestly, and often, I didn't know this poem at all (and evenChristina Rosetti.. shame on me ! :( ).
By Rossetti made me think about the weapon seller in the first YS, the Vanished Omens ! ;)

Now, this is a poem I loved as soon as I heard it. I love many of Christina Rossetti's poems, especially "What Can I Give Him?"

Excellent work Bragatyr!

Thank you very much, myau! Man, you know a thousand times more about English and English writers than I do about French, so you're way ahead of me. Hopefully one day I will be able to get familiar with more French literature.

And thank you so much once again, Silver Surfer! Massive kudos to you for being a Christina Rossetti fan, I myself am new to a lot of her writings, I briefly checked out some of her stuff along with a book of her brother's poetry in college, definitely read Goblin Market and a few others but probably preferred Dante Gabriel Rossetti at the time.

Now I'm totally reevaluating her work, just picked up a more complete collection of her stuff at the LSU book bizarre a couple months ago and have been blown away by it. Her work is so personal and reverent and earnest, it almost hurts to read it at times because it's so brutally honest, but really beautiful stuff.

I had not read the poem you mentioned before, like much of her work, and was about to get upset because I couldn't find it in my book until I googled it and found that it goes by a lot of names, so luckily I have a copy of it, ha ha. I read it as soon as I found it, and loved it, very beautiful, one of the best poems about the Nativity I've read. I will definitely record that one.

About me, sure that I know many authors or text in French literature but there are so many more that I don't know ! ;)

Okay, I had to go and look this one up after Silver Surfer mentioned it. I had wanted to save it for Christmas because of the subject matter, but I just can't help it. Really beautiful poem among Christina Rossetti's devotional pieces.
