New NES coming soon

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Thu Jul 14, '16, 9:27 pm

Look for a new smaller version of the classic NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) coming possibly in November of this year:

This is fantastic news!! Really looking forward to getting one of these and the cost sounds very reasonable too!

We still have a good working version of the NES but will not pass up the opportunity to get one of these versions also!

Great news for classic video game fans and classic video games for the NES! :happy_marle: :wow_luigi:

The library is really nice too! It has Castlevania 1 and 2, and a Kirby game as well as of course the obvious classics. I'm exicited!~ The problem is it doesn't accept old NES cartridges at all, which would be nice for collectors of old games like my friend. Overall this is easier though.

Yeah- this is a send for people who aren't big collectors- A copy of Zelda II alone can run you at least half of what this mini-NES costs.

I am already hearing of customers in stores going nuts over trying to get one of these new mini NES's. Evidently some stores may only be getting a few of these systems and the current supply may not be enough for current demand. I heard someone liken it to the craze of past years with items such as Furby's, Toy Elmo's, Holiday Barbie's and other toys and gadgets. If some customers can't get what they want, they go batty, to put it nicely, lol.

Saw this story saying the mini NES may be a small Linux PC:

What does everyone think of this?

If anyone still wants one of these small NES game systems, you better get it while, and if, you can still find it as Nintendo has decided to stop making it:

It seems to stop making a product that has been selling good supposedly might be a dumb move, but whatever! JMHO.

I do not understand how Nintendo makes the decisions it does. I do not get this decision at all.

In fact, this decision is very very strange : why launch something like that if it's to stop it only some months after ???
Maybe to let another one arrive after ? With less defaults ? :)

I sincerely doubt it's to update them and release a new one. These things were ridiculously popular yet only a small handful of people who wanted one could actually obtain one. There also weren't any technical flaws with them, just gross under stocking. I just...don't understand why Nintendo made this decision.
