Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Seeing an area to comment on regarding names, things, etc, in Phantasy Star, I wonder how do you all pronounce these odd vocabulary terms?

I dont know if it is my personal preference, misconception, or just colloquial culture, but offhand here are some names or things from PS that I feel I may be pronouncing incorrectly or just not the same as the next person:

"Nei"--This is the one which comes to the forefront of my mind. I prounce it as "Knee" However, when I look at German words with "ei"--- heil, schneider, geits, zeit, and several others, as well as English terms like eight, weight, etc., they would suggest Nei is more like "Nay" or "Nigh" No wonder those old men on Alisa III forgot the word of power--they may have mispronounced it.

"Shir" -- "Sheer"

"Orakio"--- "Or-ay-kyo"

"Rulakir"--- "Rue-lah-keer" (which doesn't make sense if those 2 names are supposed to rhyme or be phonetically similar.

"Rhys"--"Reese"

"Crys"-- "Cry-se" (like the beginning of "Chris(t)". if I pronounced this in a European fashion, it would be more like "Chris" as in Christopher. I cant see saying "Crease" however despite being similar to Rhys.)

"Adan"-- "Ay-den" (I'm sure someone much pronounce it like the similar name "Adam," right? Like Adol from Ys, I heard his name in game said as both "Ay-doll" and "Ah-doll," so who knows...)

"Dezo"--"Dee-zoe" (but strange since I pronounce it "Dez-or/l-is" when referring to Dezoris/Dezolis, like the name Delores. )

"Lacon(ia)"-- "Lay-ken" and "Lay-kone-ia" (But funny since I refer to the Greek term, the philosopher, and the Xenogears character all spelt "Lacan," as pronounced "Lah-kahn")

"Tajim"--"Tah-jeem"

"Alis"-- "Ah-lis" as in "Alissa"
"Alys"-- Exactly the same as Alis.

"Meseta"--"Meh-seh"tah" (although the similarly spelt Spanish "peseta" is "peh-say-tah"

"Paseo"--"Pay-see-oh" (although the Spanish term "Paseo" is more like "Pah-say-oh")

"Aideo"--I really don't know. "Audio"?

"Elsydeon"---El-syd-eon (Syd as in Syd Barret; eon as in Leon)

"Ayn"---Rhymes with "Pain" (not like "Ian" as in "Ian McKellen, which would be true for "Eoin" which is "Ee-in")

These are just some names that come to mind. How I tried to break it down phonetically for pronunciation, is how I pronounce those terms; Not necessarily the "correct" way. Probably wrong.

Any differing opinions? Any advice on different pronunciations?
Any other Phantasy Star terms, names, places, techniques, etc. that leave you silent or speechless?

These are my personal pronunciations, not suggestions. The translation work of some of the fans (like at sceneryrecalled.com) contains guides on some pronunciations, but I personally feel that because we were never given pronunciation guides when the games were originally released, we're allowed to pronounce unique place/people/item names however we want.

Nei-- Nay
Shir-- rhymes with fir
Orakio-- oh-RAY-kee-oh
Rulakir-- ROO-lah-keer (which doesn't make sense if those 2 names are supposed to rhyme or be phonetically similar.)- It doesn't make sense in English. It's hard for me to explain, but in their original Japanese, the brothers' names are much more similar sounding. I think one of the PS fandom's translators explained it once, but I don't recall where I got that information.
Rhys-- Reese
Crys-- Chris
Adan-- AY-den
Dezo-- DEH-zoh
Lacon(ia)-- LAH-kuhn and lah-KOH-nee-ah
Tajim-- tah-ZHEEM
Alis-- Alice
Alys-- Alice
Meseta-- meh-SAY-tah
Paseo-- pah-SAY-oh
Aideo-- It's spelled Aiedo in the game, correct? eye-AY-doh
Elsydeon-- el-SIH-dee-uhn, rhymes with obsidian, although sometimes I read it as el-sih-DAY-ohn
Ayn-- rhymes with pain

My Nei pronounciation was puzzling me. I forgot why I would even pronounce it as "Knee"
But then I started looking at "ei" words, and drew a blank.
But now I realise how I got "Knee" from "Nei"---The same way relative to the "ee" sound in these words: deceive, codeine, perceive, etc. Now I feel assured I am not crazy. Back to work.

Lots of francophones pronounce Nei "knee". (I don't)

A large majority of my pronunciations are the same as Tanith with maybe the exception of Adan which I tend to pronounce in French: "Ah-Dann"

Also, as I said before, in japanese, it's O-RA-KI-YO and RU-RA-KI-RU. The raki part is similar.

Oh my. This is gonna come from a guy who's descended from Italians/Germans, so your mileage may vary.

Also, this might be confusing because I'm not 100% sure which parts of the words I accent. (I swear to God I have an English degree.)

The Planets
Palma - "Palm" followed by "uh."
Motavia - "Mo" rhymes with "row," "ta" as in "ta-ta," "via" as in... "via."
Dezolis - "De" rhymes with "meh," "zo" rhymes with "oh", "lis" rhymes with "bliss."
Rykros - "Rye" like in bread, "kros" rhymes with "gross."

PSI
Alis - Like "Alice," though I kinda insist on calling her Alisa anyway. Damn SMS Power! translation. =p
Myau - "My" and "ow." ...I don't know why, either.
Lutz - Rhymed with "roots."
LaShiec - "La" like in "flat," followed by "Shick."
Camineet - "Cami" rhymes with "Cammy," "neet" as in "neat."

PSII
Ustvestia - Yeah, right! I can barely spell his name the same way twice, let alone pronounce it! If you put a sword to my back, I'd say "'Ust' rhymes with 'juiced,' 'vest' like the clothing, 'ia' rhymes with 'Lea.'"

PSIII, AKA The Big Block o' Text
Rhys - Like "Reese."
Mieu - "May" with an "oo" sound at the end. (This is how my cousins pronounced it when I was six years old and saw them playing PSIII.)
Ayn - Like the German "ein."
Sari - Rhymes with "carry."
Sean - As in "Connery." ...also, I refuse to believe Chrome's built-in dictionary actually thinks Sean Connery is an actual term.
Crys - Like "Chris." (Considering my actual name is Chris, I think I know how this one's pronounced!)
Adan - Like "Aiden."
Gwyn - Like "Gwen."
Aron - Like "Aaron," and definitely not "A. A. Ron" like the hilarious Key & Peele sketch.
Alair - Like "Allaire," as in the state park I live near.

PSIV
Alys - Like "Alice."
Hahn - Like "Han," as in "Solo."
Chaz - Like "Stupid."
Kyra - Like Major Kira from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Saya - Like "Seiya," as in "Saint Seiya." (Which I have never watched.)
Elsydeon - "El" rhymes with "Hell," "sy" rhymes with "sea," "dion" as in "Deion Sanders."

Neither me ! I don't pronounce it "knee" ! Just "Nay" (more or less this pronounciation !).
About Adan, yes it's the same for me : Ah-Dann
