Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Video game fans were delighted with the news last week of a soon coming mini NES video game system and now it looks like there may be more good news in a soon coming mini Sega Genesis which may be available in October.

And, I love the reference to Phantasy Star II in the article!

So, what does everyone think about a mini Sega Genesis? I thought I heard there was already something like this available, but not sure on that.

My main worry is that, according to the article (and the linked video on Byuu's Twitter account) none of the Genesis reproductions quite nail the sound due to crummy sound emulation.

Wow! I read that article, and it sounds like this Genesis is nothing but a shoddy emulator without even a save feature. How could you let this happen Sega? At least we have the good Sega classics on the smartphones and nintendo systems.

The confirmed games so far for the US version are: Altered Beast, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Comix Zone, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, Ecco the Dolphin, Gunstar Heroes, Shining Force, Sonic The Hedgehog, Space Harrier II, and ToeJam & Earl, and there will be 40 games total. As a lot of these are from the Sega Classics lineup, we can probably expect Phantasy Star games.

I expect to have Phantasy Star games !

The really interesting thing about this is that Japan is getting its own separate set of games from the west.

Nice list. Wish there were more Phantasy Star games, but atleast there is one!!

At last there is Phantasy Star 4 ! Not many RPG ! Alas...
