Gift Cards

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Wed Dec 19, '07, 7:49 am

Have you ever given, or received, a gift card for a present (Christmas or otherwise)? Some of them seem to make pretty good presents, especially if you have a hard time deciding what to buy for someone or don't know what they like, what size they wear, etc.

Almost every store it seems is offering their own gift cards lately too. I've even seen gift cards at gamespot and other stores while out shopping, etc.

Here's a new type of gift card that seems to be fairly popular too:

I've received gift certificates before, which are almost the same thing. I've never gotten an actual card. A family member gets a Wal-mart gift card from their employer every year. I've never given one either; I'd rather give the person something I know or think they want, or just money.

I've never received a gift card, but I have given them on occasion. If I don't know someone very well, I'll give them one so they can pick out something they will truly enjoy.

Any gift cards I get go out of date before I ever even think about using them.
Everything has a pattern. Something set. Even random things. They aren't random at all, its complex mathematics. The trick is to find the pattern. Then you can exploit it.

People think things have a certain end. Taxes. Work. Due dates don't really exist. Trust me. When you put a band of world scholars in the same room, and set them on talking about anything, the most interesting topics come up. The existence of negative time. The probability of "random occurrence". The government's involvement in the media. And falsified due dates. They aren't real, trust me....

So sick of gift cards as many places will not accept them now. A thing of the past, I think.
