Browsing around online the other day and saw this article about the new Nvidia Shield gaming system. It looks very impressive:

What does everyone think of this new gaming system? Will you try and get this one??

It really depends. You can make whatever system you want, but what really matters is if you can get developers on board, the lack of which helped kill consoles like the 3DO and Pippin.

It looks nice, but I don't think it will be very successful. From what I've read, it doesn't have it's own dedicated game format like most consoles. It plays Android games, but gadgets that play those are already very common. It can also stream PC games, but that requires a PC that uses an Nvidia graphics card. The range of this streaming is unclear, but that may be what makes or breaks the Shield as a gaming device. If you can stream games miles away from your PC, that's an attractive feature. If you can only do it at home, that is not so good.

Looks rather nice when you are looking at the exterior aspect, but the other caracteristics are...strange ! Like Thoul mentioned...hard to really use it really.
But why not ? :)

I didn't understand very well what they are aiming with this new console. For being a handheld running android, it only makes it more difficult to understand.

Especially now that even the traditional handheld market is suffering because of the smartphone and tablet competition in the west (3DS and Vita numbers are much lower than DS and PSP), it makes no sense to put in the market a dedicated android machine because at least Sony and Nintendo have the strength of their exclusives.
A person only sees and hears what he wants to see and hear and disregards the rest.

Sounds like a neat concept. I don't think this will make a dent in the big three of gaming.

I have been reading about the Nvidia Shield Console and Nvidia's new cloud gaming service which became available this week:

What does everyone think about the Nvidia console and the cloud gaming?

I'm not really sure who their target consumer is. PC gamers? They'll probably stick with Steam. TV compatibility means nothing as HDMI is the standard anymore, so you can plug your gaming PC right into your TV (as I have). And most PC gamers probably don't want to play most of their PC games on a tablet, and all the other functions are available elsewhere. I really don't see this doing well.
Next Pokemon game(s): Pearl
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation
