Batman:Arkham Knight is rated M

Postby MrKite » Thu Jun 4, '15, 7:10 pm

Well this is interesting. When passing by GameStop earlier I saw a poster in the window for the upcoming Batman:Arkham Knight, and it said it was rated M. This is interesting being that there was never an R-rated Batman film or a TV-MA rated Batman TV show. I also hear Trent Reznor is the musical director for the game.

I had heard about this a little while ago on another site or article. I'm not sure what I think about it. It does make me wonder exactly what content is earning it this rating.
Next Pokemon game(s): Pearl
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation

Yeah, I heard about this rating not too long ago and posted on it here:

According to one of the story links posted in the above topic thread:
https://games.yahoo.com/news/batman-ark ... 00573.html
it seems they may be taking Batman to some "dark" places in the game that some people may have problems with, thus the M rating, sort of. I haven't played the game either so not sure exactly what features makes it have this rating. Seems out of character for something labeled "Batman", but you never know. And, it's sad that some younger players may not be able to play the game due to the new rating.

Interesting about the musical director.

It's actually not all that out of character at all if you take the comics into consideration- if they made a faithful film of The Killing Joke, it would certainly get an R rating.
