Was this a good deal for a used PS Vita?

Postby MrKite » Fri Mar 20, '15, 4:47 pm

The seller had a high feedback rating and the system came with a charger and 4GB memory card, and it was $105 plus shipping. Was that a good deal? Photo below. Would like some opinions to see if I made a stupid decision or not.

I think so. I spent $200 or so about a year ago on my Vita slim - it was the Borderlands 2 bundle with an 8 gig memory card. I would say you might want to get a bigger memory card for it to go with the 4 gig one. Is it the slim or original model? It's a bit unclear from the picture, but the number in the screenshot indicates an original.

I'm not sure. I wasn't thinking of what model. I bought a 32 gig memory card for $50 too.

Was it a stupid decision? Let me ask you two more important question.

Did buying a Vita make you happy?
Were you able to shell 100$ without hurting your budget for other vital needs?

If you answered yes to those two, your first question becomes irrelevant.

Yeah I am happy. I just wanted some input if I made a good decision or not. And yes I did have enough to shell out. And Aero, you came off to me as kind of rude with that post. I don't think you were trying to be, but that's how it sounded.

I meant to say that if you could afford it AND if you wanted the thing then yeah, to me that made it a good deal.

Good or bad deals are all a matter of perspective, they aren't measurable through dollars alone.

I know that English isn't my first language but no matter how many times I re-read my first post, I can't see the rude. You asked for an opinion, I gave you one.

The way it was expressed and when people say things like "this is irrelevant", I usually think of people who are purposely trying to be insulting due to the experiences I've had.

Irrelevance means that the idea no longer has any purpose in context. If you wanted the Vita and could afford the Vita, the question "was it a good deal" was already answered thus, became irrelevant. In my book at least.

Trust me, when I want to be rude or to insult someone, I do not take detours or use a passive-aggressive speech. I go straight for the face and leave any room to doubt or interpretation.

$105.00+shipping Was a very good price for a 1000 series (OLED screen) Vita I think.

I'd say it is a steal. Personally, I ended up buying a refurbished Slim model from GameStop a few weeks ago for $170-ish, along with an imported 64GB card, which was over half the cost of the system itself; I really wish Sony used micro SD cards like nearly every tablet/device does today, but I really don't want to derail this thread with memory card complaints.
