Shigeru Miyamoto said this during an E3 interview. I'm not sure if making "quirky" games would justify its own genre, but that's just me. I appreciate the creativity that Nintendo puts into their offbeat games, but it almost seems to be counter balanced by their endless franchise remakes. So on one hand I see them as a company that makes unique games, but on the other hand, I see them as a company that milks their top franchises to death.

Um…wow. S4, totally agree with you, and the beating of their franchises to death has really made me rather tired of Nintendo…sadly. A Nintendo genre? I think Miyamoto is getting a little ahead of himself, and quite frankly, that just sounds plain arrogant.

I was thinking the same. He needs to get off his high horse. I think he should have worded it differently. Shaking a remote like device back and forth to make your character do something on screen doesn't categorize the game into a new genre.
