Square Enix says they are going to be giving the Vita more support in the future. Not sure if they mean more JRPGs or other games, but either way it seems like good news for Vita owners.

While I'm glad for the support, I'm generally pretty meh on Square Enix's stuff anymore, as so much of it is JRPGs and I've lost total interest in that genre. But obviously that's me, and Vita owners who do like Square's stuff…well, this is definitely good news for them.

I'm in the same boat that you are on this. I don't like JRPGs anymore either. Who knows, maybe they will surprise us with a Tomb Raider port or something like that.

THAT might be interesting. I got the newest Tomb Raider as a PS Plus freebie not long ago, but have not played it, of course. Porting it to Vita would be pretty awesome, especially if it did cross-save, like was done with the Borderlands 2 port (which…I haven't played…lol). I'm such a completionist with my games I fall behind so much, which is a bad combination when you have a full-time job.

After reading the article and a few comments, it seems Sony is really dropping support for the Vita, which is interesting considering the recent release of the Slim/BL2 bundle. Maybe it isn't doing too well. But whatever…even if that happens, I don't mind even as a recent adopter, as there's plenty of good games that are a bit old that I haven't played, and the Vita freebies for PS Plus have been GREAT since I picked up the system.

Unrelated note: S4, my PSN info is now in my signature. Feel free to send me a PSN friend request. :)

The Vita is still selling extremely well in Japan. I think it's in 2nd place behind the 3DS, and it's even outselling the PS4 and Wii U. However, I don't think it's doing as well in other regions. It almost doesn't matter to Sony though. Sony is in a very tough spot with the Vita right now. The financial problems that Sony is going through are hurting their ability to invest risky money in first party Vita games. I'm sure they are operating on limited game funding, and when they have a choice to put their resources into making a game for the Vita or the PS4, they are going to pick the PS4 every time, since it's a bigger global market.

The PSP didn't have as much of a problem with this. Even though Sony was hurting financially back then, it's no where near as bad as it is now, and they were still able to put some funding into PSP development.

I don't think Sony has given up on the Vita by choice, I think sacrificing Vita development is the only way to keep the PS4 releases coming. That's just my opinion, but it makes sense when you think about it.

I do not feel cheated or unsatisfied for purchasing my Vita. I think there are plenty of good games to get, and I still have a lot of games that I'm looking to buy at some point.

On your Unrelated note: Sure, I will add you next time I break out my PS3, but I have no idea when that will be since I jump around between all of my systems and PC. I often won't play systems for months and months. When I add you on PSN I will send you a PM here to let you know that I sent the request. However, I must warn you, once I send you a PSN friend request, you will then know my secret identity O_o
