Ouya game console

Don't know if this particular game console has been discussed here yet or not, but what does everyone think of this one? Will you try it, or have you tried it yet??

So far, it seems to be doing rather well in the gaming market.

Certainly is rather small, and the price range is not too bad.

I've heard about this, and I'm very interested, it sounds like a great idea but I worry about its success, with open-source software it will be a hacker's dream, which means easy access to free games, which could hurt game sales. Also the lack of third party developers could be its ultimate downfall, as that really is the life blood of the console industry.

I'll wait and see how it does in the game area. The idea in general does sound good, but a lot will depend on how security is handled. If security isn't decent, some publishers may avoid the system because they'll think there will be a lack of DLC profit.

Historically, most "gimmick" consoles don't survive. It will be interesting to see how this one holds up.

Recent news on the soon to be released Ouya Gaming system. Seems the release date has been pushed back a bit but only by a few weeks. It is now expected to be out by June 25:

My boyfriend and his brother both have one. They LOVE this little thing. As my BF is a software engineer and his brother is good with making sprites, they are actually developing a game for Android, smartphones and Ouya, and the latter is easily their best testing platforming.
Next Pokemon game(s): Pearl
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation
