Breath Of Fire I, II, etc.

Anyone like these games? I know there are Breath Of Fire I and Breath Of Fire II. Are there any others in the series? I don't believe I have played these games. Are they very difficult?

I enjoyed the first two. I played part of the third, but it didn't draw me in and keep me interested like the others. The series went up to #5, but I didn't try anything after 3.

The first one isn't very hard, it's quite fun. The second one was much more difficult, unless you know a trick. There is a way to get a super-powerful character early and use her to increase everyone else's power. It can be hard to pull off, but if you do it, it game becomes easier overall.

I didn't care for BoF2, the storyline was a turnoff for me. :p

As for BoF1, it was good too, but I wasn't very happy when my save disappeared after putting several hours into the game.

So, I'll have to say, BoF3 is my favorite. Also the first one I've played from the series, too. It's not too hard either, and I enjoyed the storyline. If I were to recommend any to you, it'd be this one.

Haven't played anything past the 3rd and don't plan on it -- the reviews I've read told me more than enough, though a friend said that the 4th was alright.

When it comes to these things, storyline is a pretty big issue for me. It's what either makes a game great or makes the game a chore to get through -- and no one likes doing chores.

What part of 2's storyline did you not like? Overall I thought it wasn't a bad game, but I could have done without the psudeo "religion is evil" theme.

Gotta hate when that happens. :( I've had it happen once or twice to me on other games.

For my part, I only played the first two. I really enjoyed the first; it was one of my favorite games for a long time.

Breath of Fire 4 was the first one I played, and it's a lot of fun. Sort of confusing at times, but overall a lot of fun. Also the whole thing about learning enemy skills by guarding them I thought was a neat touch, and then firing them back in conjunction with another character to create a super-strong attack was good too.

That was it exactly; I don't care for religion in video games. Sure, BoF3 had elements of relgion in it to some level, but I could ignore it.

I thought the religion theme was overdone in II, also. It was easier to ignore the religion in part I, but II just had it everywhere.

I also missed the conflict between the dragon races. I always hoped they would do a prequel set in a time when both dragon races were at the height of their power.
