I can totall understand the issue of sticky money. Although not with coins specifically but I always have to watch out that some of my paper money bills are sticking together whenever I pay for anything. We usually get money out of an ATM and it is usually always brand new bills....you can tell by the smell of the new paper, print, etc., and by how they stick together if you aren't careful!! It can be frustrating at times. I imagine that dealing with plastic coins would also present many problems. Also, I wonder what happens if the plastic coins get warm or hot...do they stick together then also??

Yes I see ! Many people don't like changes but as for me it depends which one(s) !
Here, the fact that the plastic money can stay sticked to each other is indeed a great reason ! I understand :)

In the early 2000s, I used to work in a bank and I specialized in detection of counterfeit money. I have seen pathetic attempts at faking money but some fakes were very, very concinving. One thing i'll grant these new bills: they will be exceedingly hard to counterfeit.

However, as stated before, the plastic is thin and sticks to similar bills stacked against it. The Canadian banks were discussing the idea of removing them from circulation because, just as my fellow citizen said, not only can you end up handing two bills instead of one, the ATMs did the same mistake, much to the delight of a lot of people.

Withdraw 100$, get 120$. MAGIC!

Yeah.

The Canadian banks were already discussing the idea of removing them from circulation early !

Actually a stack of the new Canadian bills smell really good, it's got this kind of maple scent to it. But you need a good stack otherwise it won't work.

Well, I haven't gotten lucky enough for that yet, but it's understandable why they want to get rid of it because of that. I wonder if they will find some way to get rid of the plastic from ticking to each other like it is. With these new bills I've made a habit of double checking what I get from ATMs, when I pay with the new bills, as well as when I get change with the new bills. So far I've almost lost $20 because I didn't check, luckily it was to my sister and she gave me the extra bill back.

I'm sure it would be possible for them to stop sticking, but they'd have to be well used or maybe even slightly warped... There might even be something you could find to use on them to stop it from sticking, though that would require research.

Yes and if research is needed...that would imply new money spend and maybe no more plastic money after due to...lack of money
No but without joking, sure that for the moment that plastic money isn't at its best.
