I've recently started watching MacGyver from the beginning. I've seen it all before, but it has been a few years since the last time I watched the show. Long enough for most of it to have slipped my mind, though I always know MacGyver will find a way to solve all the problems.

I watched a movie recently that I hadn't seen in quite awhile but it was still very enjoyable. It was "Escape From L.A." starring actor Kurt Russell as the character Snake Plissken. There was also a sequel to this movie titled "Escape From New York" that I want to see when I can find the time. For anyone that may not be familiar with these movies, here is a little info on them, but beware of spoilers, so if you don't wanna know before watching the movie, then you may not want to read the info:

Kurt Russell is one of my favorite actors and he is fantastic in these movies. It seems they may be thinking of doing another one of these movies and if so, I hope they get him to do the sequel, although, he is a few years older now and even if he is in great physical shape, I wonder if he could still do the stunts a movie like this might require?? Although, Stallone and some of the others seem to have pulled it off for the "Expendables" movie, so I think Russell could do it also.

Found a story where Russell comments on the possible new movie and the Snake Plissken character:

One thing that you need to do with TV shows is the "three-episode test," where you watch three episodes before passing judgement on a series. And the show I've given that test to is Copper, a show starring Tom Weston-Jones as Kevin Corcoran, an Irish detective in Five Points, New York during 1864. Why is this show awesome? Because Corcoran's corrupt as all hell and still manages to be the good guy.

What's so awesome about this show? All kinds of things! Bare-knuckle old-time boxing matches, brutal fist fights, gun fights ("Surviving Death" and "La Tempete" have awesome ones), a Confederate plot to destroy New York, political intrigue, and the most hilarious double-homicide investigation ever.

Well, excuse me while I defy all laws of logic and common sense and do it anyway.

But what if you're British, and a fair number of series are only three episodes long? :)

But on my end, I've been re-watching Ken Burns's civil war, and am gearing up to do my next re-watch of I, Claudius. Much as I liked HBO's Rome, I do think that the former is a superior television drama.

Have to say that I must agree with Snorb's comment on the "three episode test". I have watched many TV series, etc., and not at all liked the first episode but after having kept with it for a little while, some of them begin to appeal to me more. However, some also do not!! Still, it's good to give it a fair try.

Right now, I have begun to watch the "Friday Night Lights" TV series on DVD. I think the show has been cancelled now, but I never watched it when it was originally run on TV. It's basically about football, the football coach and his family, etc. I really like it so far. I'm only on the second disk of season one but it's very entertaining so far. It stars actor Kyle Chandler...I like him!!!

Been watching a little bit of retro anime from the early-to-mid 90’s era on DVDs: Battle Angel Alita, Burn-Up W and Armiatge III: Poly-Matrix. Very big difference between the art styles and themes in those anime shows compared to all the anime that’s out now.
