Orakio was left-handed, in the picture from the intro he is holding his sword in his left hand.

I like to think he was ambidextrous, because that scene was usually mirrored when the artwork version of it was printed in books. This was one example, but there are a couple of others as well:

Ambidextrous seems to be the good explanation.

I have seen the mirrored image before, and with the way Laya is holding her bow, that would make her left handed in that one O_O It seems that Toyo Ozaki intended for one of them to be left handed, its a shame that we may never know which one, I like it when a designer puts a lot of detail into a character right down to which hand they use :)
