On a volcano? No, I think I would pass on that one. The house itself might be nice, but the location leaves much to be desired. I imagine it's next to impossible to insure the house, too.

Thought about putting this one in the "Letting Off Steam" thread as it really made my blood boil while reading this story but it is also very ridiculous too so here goes:

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/te ... 41763.html

Can you believe those firefighters just stood around and did nothing???

 :grumpy: :x  :(

Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! :fiery: :fiery:

I like how the mayor has the gall to say the firefighters will help anyone in danger, when the article says these people went back into their burning home while the firefighters just stood there and watched. Yeah, letting untrained people go into a burning building is really helping out. The whole thing is just disgraceful.

Hmmm, I choose the latter.

I think it's just sad. The fellow missed an opportunity for happiness and he can never get it back. This was a hard way for anyone to learn that lesson.

That firefighter story really angered me too. It should be against the law for the fire department to refuse service. People already pay for it through taxes. It's sickening that they will leave people homeless over 75 dollars. These people live in a trailer anyway, it's understandable that they don't have an extra 75 dollars.

Kinda ridiculous but this one gets my dander up more than anything. There's absolutely no need to poison trees. :grumpy:

I'm a little conflicted on this next "ridiculous" story. I'd be interested in hearing everyone's opinions on this one:

http://now.msn.com/living/0428-cheater-sues-school.aspx

Okay, here's what I'm thinking...first the Dad must be somewhat of a jerk to try and sue a school because HIS son was caught cheating. Duh, if you're son is cheating, then something is wrong somewhere because that is dishonest and should not be allowed anywhere. Behaviour like this should be stopped or dealt with by the parents, etc. Thus, this is a silly law suit.

However, on the other hand, if you read the entire story very carefully, you will see a mention that the school may have a policy where it says they have to be caught cheating "twice"!!! If that is indeed a school policy, then as stupid as it is, then I think the Father may indeed have a pretty good case here as this might have been his son's first time cheating and the Father/son could possibly win this in court.

Any other opinions on this anyone????

"OBJECTION" ! Sorry...my Phoenix Wright playthrough is coming back ! lol ^^
Very interesting article : but effectively, the end of the article is VERY strange ! Why point out the fact that "students won't be punished for cheating until the second time they're caught" : that's totally stupid !!! Imagine : all the students can try to cheat a "first time" : if they are not caught it's ok and if they are..they have a second chance !! So the father have read very carerfuly the school policy sheets...which is surely not too common ! (imagine school policy written in very small typing ? ;))
