The most touching death scene?

Discuss the saga of Algo, where the legend began.

I dunno. When I was younger I thought Alys' passing was sadder than Nei's, but after playing PSII years later it had more of an emotional impact on me. :( Poor Nei.

No, seriously i didn't feel much from it, didn't read into it to see any implications like "oh, she was so young and innocent and devoted to Rolf".
Seems my way of thinking is at odds with some of the people here, who like to have storylines that you have to kind read into to get something out of them. At this point in my life, I can't be stuffed with a game that makes you have to work really hard in order to connect with it. PS 4 obviously helps you along in term of gameplay and storyline. You don't need to go over the story twice in order to enjoy it and understand the implications of it.
So you like easy games that require little thinking where the story is spoon-fed to you rather than having to figure anything out on your own?

That would take some of the fun out of it.

I'm not afraid to say that I cried during each of those scenes. I would say I bawled like a little baby over Alys's death more than Nei's. I guess it's because Alys reminds me more of my sister[who was ill at the time I saw Alys's death scene so that may have added some impact] than Nei.

The passing of Alys was the hardest for me. I think it's because of the dialogue and funeral scenes... so expressive with the tears streaming down Chaz's face; Rune's torn and sad face expressions as he walks into the dark, and Chaz's total shock upon losing his only family member. :(

The fact that Rune took over and became a guardian over Chaz at her passing also says a lot about the bond between Alys and Rune.

Maybe it's because I played Phantasy Star II wayyyyy before Phantasy Star IV, but Nei's death was more emotional for me. Or, maybe it's because I spoiled myself about Alys's death. Probably a mixture of both. :P

For me, the death of Ayn and Thea was the most emotional. Especially if you consider that Rhys and Maia probably died on Azura as well and I love these two so much  And, from the players perspective, Lyle's death was was just before the death of Ayn and Thea. That's probably one reason why I tend to choose Crys as the last hero although Sean is a real cool character, too. But more of my favourite characters are surviving in Crys' ending, so I like this more.

I think Nei's death is one of the most emotional in video games in general, so I have to go with her.

Sean's branch of the game is really kind of depressing, isn't it? All of the people of his kingdom and his whole family get wiped out except for Wren and Mieu, so he loses almost everyone he's ever known. That was a rotten thing to put the character and player through so far into the game.

Exactly. But on the other hand, Aron's branch isn't brighter either since
[Reveal] Spoiler:
it implies for me that the madness happening during the PS II timeline repeats over and over again.

Ah very interesting question ! ;)
The most touching death scene ? Hard to tell ! My first idea was to say Nei because it's sure that's the most emotional of all ! But Nero's death, gthe first I've ever experienced in a video game, is very emotional too : not at the beginning sure because that was the first Phantasy Star I've starting to play but after finishing the game many times : I'll say Nero's death is the most touching as it's the starting point of the greatest adventure of all times...

A touching death scene is "bad ending" Nagisa death on Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity. I have never seen such a concept like that. You have to kill her.
A person only sees and hears what he wants to see and hear and disregards the rest.
