My understanding, and this is just from looking at a couple of topics on GameFAQs and what tili said above, is that the PSP version is a port of the PC version, with voice acting, a gallery, and some other stuff (mostly unspecified) added. This version on Steam is apparently identical to the original PC version, just translated to English and with Steam feature support (cloud saving, achievements).

From what I could tell the main differences are the voice acting, and new game+ I'm not sure is that even worth it, since you will close to max level at the end of the game anyway. Besides you can always simulate this through PCs cheat mode. Also just so you know, the Oath in Felghana fan translation, is the official translation. Xseed actually bought Deuce and Nightwolves translation, so that will be the same no matter what version you play. Also from what I've read the graphics are actually better on the PC version, and that's not even taking into account the fan filters, or widescreen mod. I would definately get this version.

I just wanted to clear this up, you can access PSN with just a PSP, but you need a compatible wireless connection. I say compatible because my own is not. But even that doesn't work, there is free wifi everywhere. The Library, mcdonalds, a friends house etc.

Media Go is an option but you will need a USB wire to connect you PSP to your PC. I'm not sure how much they go for, I was able to use the cable that came with my digital camera.

But yeah, you don't need a PS3, I don't even own one.

I 've got Wifi in my flat :) And I don't want to buy a PS3 specifically ;) (I'm not a big Sony fan ^^)
I'll try to see some sites on the net and see what I can do but thanks for the hints.

Huh, so the fan translation was used in the official release? That's unusual. I suppose for my purposes, it doesn't matter since I don't have the untranslated version anyway. Okay, so it sounds like the PC version is worth getting. I'll have to pick it up sometime. Might wait for the spring sale and see if Steam drops the price a little, though. Thanks for the info, everyone!

Yes, very unusual but important as I found it to be a great recognition of their good work ! Great for them.
Steam seems to be an interesting opportunity (my older brother uses it a lot !).

I thought this would be the best place to post this. In HyperDimension Neptunia Mk2 the JRPG I’m currently glued to at the moment features a DLC character by the name of Falcom. Interestingly enough she is the personified version of Nihon Falcom which is the game company responsible for creating the Y’s games as I’m sure you already knew.

And funnily enough she implies during several cut scenes to be a writer who has published many books and her pen name is Alod Christin which is a reference to Adol Christin from the Y’s games. She looks rather similar too.

I love this artwork ! And her name is Falcom ? Nice one ! Yes I already knew it but it's kind for those who don"t know about it ! Female version of Adol, with the same hair color (but she is more cute than him ;))

Here's some art and screens for a new Ys game:

It's going to be on the Vita, apparently. Looks pretty good, graphically anyway. Maybe XSeed will bring this one over when the time comes.

My Vita is ready waiting for Ys IV :D

Meanwhile, Ys Origin is very good. The story is quite intriguing.
