Star Ocean

Any fans of this series here? I've only played the third game, but I found it to be very enjoyable. It's certainly a long one with a lot to do. I thought it was an offbeat mix of Star Trek and a fantasy novel. I never managed to finish the game... I should pick it up again and try to get all the way to the end soon.

Star Ocean 2's my favorite of the two I've played, and is one of my four most favorite RPGS. Till the End of Time is fun, but it's not as good as 2. It's a shame that the first one never was ported over to the States. Oh SO2 is such a good game!

I've got 2 and 3. I like 3 more, but I've only played about five minutes of 2, so that doesn't mean much. I bought off eBay a while back because I liked 3 and heard it was good. I just played long enough to see if it was going to work... it's another on my list of Games to Play One Day.

I have 3, and had 2. Stupidly, I sold it. Now I want to get it back and start playing it again. I loved 2. 3 is good, but a lot tougher. The difficulty of the battles seems to go from really easy to very hard way too fast, so you have to spend a bunch of time grinding away on other enemies to get some experience and levels. I love the entire series though, I even got to play the first one which was decent...would have been better if I could have understood what was going on of course.

Yeah, I noticed the difficulty changing quickly like that in 3, too. I had to level a lot before going to each new area or my party was toast. At least it made buying stuff in the stores easier. ;)

Star Ocean 2 fan here!

I love the gameplay, skill system, characters, storyline, everything. I swear, everytime I play through it I find something new. Loads upon loads of replay value, so I hardly get tired of it.

Never played 1 or 3. I wont touch 3 because of the storyline, though. Sure, it's different, but not something I could really enjoy.

So, I suppose my obsesstions lie within 2, for now.
