Hm, an interesting point. Lassic might have been using a more concentrated version, perhaps. It's like the results at Mile versus those at Garuberk Tower. The first is instant death, while the second was lingering. Maybe Lassic had a more direct connection to Dark Force than Zio.

Lassic and Darkie had a very close relationship at the very least, considering PD didn't let Lassic go after his death. Also, from reading what we know Lassic has been in power for quite some time. We don't know how long he has been with Darkie, perhaps he was "studying" the BEW and managed to master it to a certain degree of perfection.

The reason why it was a lingering disease with Alys and Garuberk might be explained by the fact that PD was still chained and sealed away. PD broke free and insta-killed Mile, meaning he could finally release the BEW in full force. Compare it to Lassic learning it and using it outside the seal that kept PD away and that might explain his awesome power.

This of course makes me wonder why we can't Alys a crystal to keep her alive! I'm still not over her (or Nei's) death.
"Rolf, there's no hope for me. If Neifirst is dead, I must die, too."
And in so saying, Nei silently closed her eyes.

Nice topic.
I dont think the gas leak in PS1 is the Black Energy Wave, as there was another gas leak 10 years prior to PS2; its mentioned in the newspapers you can read in Skure. I think either a Dezorian or the Musk Cats mention the leak too. Actually it was the cats for sure, but unsure if a Dezorian mentioned it too. Either way, PS2 frames it like a physical gas leak, not some malevolent force.

As far as Lassic using the Black Energy Wave, while he didnt use it from what we see in PS1, in PSIV, Lassic uses AnothrGate, which is like the Black Energy Wave Zio used, but affects everyone. The Profound Darkness' 2nd form also uses AnothrGate, so I suspect that it is indeed a stronger, or, wider area effect version of The Black Energy Wave.

Oh, and I do think Garubek Tower is where the Guaron Morgue once stood. If you look at a map, both are pretty much in the same place, north of Corona Tower/ Gumbious Temple in PS1 & PSIV maps. Then in comparing PSII and PSIV maps, Esper Mansion is east of Garubek and Guaron.

Funny, I was about to write on this topic, the same exact things that I already wrote, because I forgot that I already posted in this. But regardless of that, I truly believe that my points are the most valid if you line up the geography in the history.
