Claymore

Drawn or CGI, animated movies and shows fit well with the gaming crowd.

That stinks, Wing-0. I will never complain about distribution again. It's not that bad here, though finding the middle volumes (about 7-11) is tough and those are the volumes that have a lot of the meat of the story. I'm just going to put the next part in all spoilers, so don't read it if you're planning on reading the manga. The following contains events that happen after the anime.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
First off, I think you said you really liked Jean, Lucas. Me too. Her death is among the top three Deaths That Suck from the series. I was hoping she'd be a part of the group of "unknown" warriors, but her sacrifice to Clare was really beautiful. Her awakened form was also very striking. It might be my favorite.

If Helen is killed off I will quit the series. Probably. Maybe. They better not kill her off! She's my favorite of the seven, though I really like all of them.

Riful and Dauf were awesome and I'm sad to see them go, too, Lucas. Yes, Riful was clinical, but she was also really smart and one of the more interesting characters.

Oh yeah, and you mentioned the Dragon Descendants. I want some answers, too! I feel like more stuff is being introduced without the old stuff being resolved yet. There's still a ton of stuff that came out, uh, when was that... around chapter 80 or so. HUGE infodump, and it just kept coming. I want that cleared up!

Did Clare kiss Raki in the anime? Gotta admit, in the manga, I was not expecting that at all. Mostly because it didn't seem like a sibling-type kiss, so I was so very confused. Do you think if Raki and Clare do find each other (and somehow survive past Priscilla) they intend on being something other than "siblings"?

So who are your favorite characters? In no particular order, I like:
Clare
Irene
Galatea
Teresa
Jean
Helen
Cynthia
Isley
Riful
Dauf
Sid
Miria

^ Jean Smiling (she was great :) )

Helen is awesome; out of all of them she has the funniest personality. Personally I don’t think she’ll die. If she does though I’m going to headbutt something. I also really like Dietrich her character has appealed to me as well. And yes poor Jean she was so loyal, it was sad to see her go.

^ Riful and her sad “What the hell is wrong with you” face . This is pretty much the face I had after she died. :bang:

I was very sad to see Riful go. Out of Priscilla and Riful I can’t really choose which awakened being I prefer more. They’re both pretty awesome, the more I think about Riful is more misunderstood than evil. But that can be said for most of the awakened beings.

In the anime Clare does kiss Raki, it’s during the 12th episode I think when she is escaping from Ophelia. I reckon when they find each other they probably will still act like they did seven years ago. I can’t really see a major LOVE relationship developing between the two. But that’s just what I think. Time will tell.

Favourite characters (also in no particular order):
Teresa (Okay I lied, Teresa is my number one so she is first, everyone else no particular order)
Clare
Helen
Galatea
Miria
Jean
Dietrich
Riful
Isely
Priscilla
Florah
Dauf
Cynthia

Oh! I have more. Dang, I need to occupy myself with something else until the next chapter comes out. Don't read this if you haven't read chapter 104 yet.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
What the hell is the organization planning to do with Raki?? I don't like where that's going at all.

I also have no idea what's going to happen with this whole Rafaela/Luciela awakened, uh, THING, and with Priscilla hanging around, and with Clare a mere torso. This is all very bad! I'm hoping Miria and Tabitha, and a whole host of other claymores and former claymores suddenly show up. Or something.

I know this thread has sort of been hijacked by the manga rather than the anime, but I'm up to chapter 106 now and I spoiled chapter 107 by looking through the raw scan. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Miria! No! :( There is so much going on right now that's obviously leading up to something huge, because they keep introducing more weirdness without explaining previous weirdness. I think this manga is going to end soon. Anyone else feel that way?

I found some of these on sale on Amazon so I'll have to get one soon. How many volumes are there anyway?

I haven't caught up with the manga since reading chapter 103 online. In Australia they have a total of 16 volumes of manga released for Claymore at the moment. With Madman Entertainment releasing another every 2-3 months.

So... something reminded me of this series today, so I watched a few episodes on Funimation's site this evening. The first four I believe it was, maybe five. I can't recall off hand. Anyway... I enjoyed it so far. The fights do get a bit more bloody than I'd care for, but at least it's not super gory so far. Purple blood flying around isn't so bad. I'm more impressed with the characters so far. They're written better than I had hoped they would be.

That's good to hear Thoul. It is a truly brilliant anime series. My self proclaimed mission after it was released in Australia was to increase Claymore's fan-base. I even got some of the blokes around my age I paint with to watch it.
