As the Phantasy Star II preview in Game Player's Sega Genesis Strategy Guide #1 continues to a fourth page, readers are provided with a brief glimpse of the game's combat system. Most of the major characters are also introduced. Shir, Nei, and Rolf have similar presentations on other pages of the article.

Not that there were clues to find anyway. :p But I never used him a lot either, unless I felt like doing something different. Of course this wasn't helped by the fact that Rolf, Amy, Rudo and Anna were usually all you needed.

I had this magazine. I also ripped out all the pages that were about Phantasy Star II and kept them in my PSII box. Included was a map of Mota, too, I believe.

Hugh is nigh pointless in the game and would have been better introduced before Biosystems, not after. Rudo's usefulness is completely downplayed in this article, and I like how Kain's ability to break mecha is deemed "disassembling."

Yeah. What does he do? Immobilize them and then proceed to take them apart one bolt at a time? :D

And yes, Hugh would have been better introduced before the Biolab. Though given how you'd rarely use him afterward, the experience gained there is best kept for Amy, I think.
