Anna Sketch 2

Postby tilinelson2 » Fri Apr 29, '11, 4:55 am

Well, I've bought some gear I've bought in order to keep trying to come out with something acceptable from my drawings and I ended with another Anna Sketch while testing a new pencil and eraser. I don't remember when it turned out to be another Anna drawing, but drawing Anna is always something good. :D

As the results were not that bad and I'm shameless, I'm publishing it anyway. Maybe some may even consider it better than the last Anna sketch, who knows? Anyway, the proportions are still not good enough. At least his face is resembles more the "lovely Anna" of her text adventure portrait and Compendium sketches than the fierce Anna of the game images and my last fanfic, so it is a change.

I hope you don't hate it too much.

Actually it looks pretty good from what I can see of it. Needs to be a little darker or bolder drawn so it will show up better. Appears to be a good form and all. She has a very pretty face. :)

You pretty much have the anime face style done perfectly. Other than her shoulders being a tiny bit to wide it's another pretty good drawing. ;)

I agree that it could benefit from being darker. I can't make out her hands or waist at all. But from what I can see, you are improving on the proportions a lot. Keep at it and you'll be a pro before you know it! :D

Well, I think it happened more because of the scanner itself than the drawing, because it looks good on paper. Anyway to solve that problem I've already bought a dark pencil to make lines darker when finished. If, even so, it doesn't look good, it is time to replace the scanner :p

Not bad. Her waist is a bit thin, but as you're something of an amateur artist, you're doing well. Her chest is less fanboy-y than the first Anna sketch.

I'd try playing around with the brightness and contrast settings in the scanner software first. Every scanner is different in my experience, but most of them tend to scan things too brightly. Adjusting those settings can help sometimes.
