Very nice story! I love the characterization for everyone and how Sean progressed through the story. That was a nice Gaiden easter egg, too. Are you thinking about continuing this, or is it meant to be a one shot?

Thanks for the review, Thoul. I kinda thought Sean moved a bit too quickly, though- maybe he's still got some tears to shed.

I was thinking about making this a novelization about Sean's third of PSIII- problem is, who does Sean wind up with in the end? Kara? Laya? Mieu? That lazy girl from every Tool Store in the domes? =p

With such a traumatic event, I'd be surprised if Sean didn't still have some sadness in him. Especially if you have him go to Landen and meet up with Sari - that could reopen the wounds.

I think Sean would end up with Kara, but of course it depends on how it's written. He just lost his home - being with Kara would offer the security and safety of a new home among other Layans, which could be pretty attractive to him. Laya... well, all she has is herself and an underwater hideaway. ;)

You have to love how Mieu can go from dead serious to cheerful on the spot. After living for over a thousand years, I can't blame her for being so eccentric. She got off pretty easy though compared to Miun though. I always wondered why Mieu never spoke when the party ran into Miun in Aridia.

This kind of reminds of an idea I had of Rhys deciding to marry Mieu and they become king and queen of Hazatak.

I don't think PSIII Wren is seven and a feet tall though. Heck, PS IV Wren is only six and half feet tall.

Really good story. While the core of the story is Sean's coping, Mieu's personality and Wren's dialogue really just gives it that extra bit of flesh and bone and make it more entertaining.

I always assume Sean and Kara will get together, and my fanfics reflect that.

Great story, and it would be interesting to read further sequels, if possible. People deal with loss in different ways and experience one mood after the other, of which he seems to be no different here. Real friends stick close no matter what, and he seems to have those types of friends.

Nice fanfic. Emo Sean at his best, his feelings are very nicely portrayed. You did a good work writing serious and emotional dialogue between Sean and Mieu. It is impossible to not sympathize with Sean's anger and sorrow.
