Updated PS3 RM2K Chipsets w/pics

Postby Sain Cai » Sun Mar 20, '11, 3:30 am

I updated the town yet again, as the healing/resurrection building was not correct. I also created the Orakian Castle set, and have a couple pictures of basic setups showing how they would look. Please forgive the grid, I snapshot it using printscreen. I believe I used all available chips to form these, sans the different shops (same concept, different image). I will post here with new chipsets for PS3

Nice work! The pictures are perfectly made. You have done an excellent job.

Theres always one thing I hated about chairs when using RM2k/3, XP, VX. The 2 spots it takes on the map, I only say this cause I know firsthand on this, it always looks weird cause the guy sitting in the chair is either sitting on the left edge or right edge of his seat.. you could always try and make the chair bigger yourself to make it take 3 spots on the map so the guy will be sitting in the middle

Layan Castle & Pics

Postby Sain Cai » Sun Mar 20, '11, 10:23 pm

Layan Castle, same layout, but the tiles are a little different and of course the emblem is different. I created a rug, mirror and wall flag for the layans, as I didnt see any in the game (Cille, Shusoran or Mystoke). Also made paths for layan castles as they were not in any of the aforementioned castles.

You may be able to use 2 events and split the dude in half so it will take 2 slots, but be centered

For the houses, I made them 1 extra space wide (8px on both sides), so the character can enter the door itself and not be half on it. The healing house also has the middle section 1 extra space to be able to fit on the space the 2 houses make. I was tinkering around with the portcullis as well, but the opening was offset compared to the 4-wide stones. If there arent any there, it isnt a big deal, but can look odd if you have a central street near the portcullis.

EDIT:
I tinkered around with the mentioned sprite and came up with this:

I had to offset the images by 4 PX from center to make it look like the original, located to the right of the throned King.

PS3 World set, initial

Postby Sain Cai » Tue Mar 22, '11, 2:57 am

Ripped the coastal borders of temperate climate, and mountains for the 3 climates (regular, desert, frozen). This set does not have ripped forests at this time. Caves and bridge are 3 wide, so the char goes inside properly.

Mountains will take some time to set up, as they are not like the normal ones associated with the RPG Maker 2K world chips. Use Hugues exceptional PS3 maps to get ideas on mountain setups

Again, sorry about the grid.

PS3 Landen Forest

Postby Sain Cai » Tue Mar 22, '11, 10:52 pm

Ripped a forest for the RM2k, ands a quick shot of the game. I think it is quite acceptable, and again will take a little time to make the forests. Use Hugues exceptional PS3 maps to get ideas on forest setups

No grid this time, yay me :D

Neat work. It is almost possible to remake PSIII with those, plus the character sprites.

Thank you. I finished doing the cave chipset, which was ridiculously easy. I did the Figidia style world and uploaded all my chipsets to my new RM2K resource website located here: http://dragonthrone.namepad.org/

I will upload the caves soon, just doing a replica of the Isle cave now.

All these tilesets look amazing, PSIII is much more complex than it seems once you start trying to decompose it into individual pieces like this.
