Well, I doubt it. He'd probably be in his mid-50s at the oldest, and Jackie Chan and Sylvester Stallone have proved that being past 50 doesn't prevent you from being bad to the bone. Rhys starts his quest at about 18. If you go the Ayn route, who's about 15 when the quest begins, that'd make him at least 34 or 35. Add another 20 years or so, depending on the generation, and he's only in his mid-50's at that point.

I think everyone except Sean and Mieu getting killed out on Azura would be interesting. Mieu is badly damaged during the escape to carry on. With the help of the Androids in Aridia, they manage to use Mieu's parts to fix Miun. The two of them eventually team up with Alair (who uses guns), Laya and Kara.

You killed off Mieu (well, shut her down), but your idea is so intriguing that I'm not outraged with it...you got moxie kid, and I like it.

Yeah he could be like a Dragonmaster Dyne character from Lunar - very cool idea that would be great to see.

Me too. I love the the 1st generation. Rhys' quest was way too short for me. As I mentioned before, I'd love to play the whole 1st gen party during the whole game, maybe with some member switches. In this case, the game's timeline could be compressed to 10 or 15 years from abducting Maia until fighting Dark Force. Although even if Rhys was 50 he surely would still be strong enough to battle Dark Force.

If I ever get time for it I might make an rpg maker game with another adventure that Rhys and his friends can experience. Could take place after his marriage with Maia and before Ayn was born.

Anyway, I would keep Rhys in the game.

This idea is awesome! But instead of having a gun-firing Aliar in the group I would prefer Siren joining replacing the destroyed Wren. During the game he is found on Sage Isle, regreting his mistakes fighting the Layans (pretty emotional for an android). He could join the party here because of redemption. And instead of the second version of Kara we could simply let Aliar take her place, using slicers.
