PSII - Where did they come from?

Postby Thoul » Thu Nov 1, '07, 10:51 am

Where do you think the characters in PSII lived before joining Rolf? Rolf and Nei were in Paseo of course, but the others just seem to come out of nowhere to me. They all say something like they'd heard of Rolf's work and came to sign up, but don't give much more background beyond that.

I always thought they lived in the town you had to visit before they would join. Except for Hugh and Anna. Hugh probably worked in the Biosystems Lab, but he's probably from somewhere else. Maybe a city the party doesn't visit during the game? Anna currently lives in Kueri, but I think she's originally from Palma. It would certainly fit the description of "far-off lands" in the Compendium.

I'm not sure about where they live, but I thought of them as having been in the towns Rolf visits at the same time or shortly after Rolf was there.

Since Rudo is a hunter, I saw him as more of a wandering nomad kind of guy, going wherever the job takes him and not settling down anywhere.

I honestly never thought about this and assumed that they came from the town you had to reach before meeting them! :D Since, maybe word-of-mouth was how they heard about Rolf and his adventures?

I never gave it too much thought... Shir was probobly homeless to tell you the truth. As for Rudo, he was probobly a freelance hunter who roamed Motavia in search of work. I wouldn't be suprised if Kain came from a junkyard... Hugh most likely came from the northern Motavia, seeing as how it has more trees that any other region. I kind of doubt that Amy came from a normal family.. I half-suspect that she grew up in a hospital somewhere... God only knows where Anna came from... honestly, she's like PS2's Alys.

Off to one of the most strange NPC's..

That guy from the clone labs was probobly a clown at some point in his life. Seriously, the guy always scared the heck out of me when I was little.

I think all the shop keepers are clones created just to occupy the shops. They all look exactly alike wherever you go, so they must be clones!

Clones? It figures. :D

Seriously though, that could explain a lot. :eyebrow: Like people supposedly not needing to work, but shopkeepers actually working.

Shir was probobly homeless to tell you the truth.

Shir supposedly comes from a rich family, so I doubt she'd be homeless. I'd expect her to have an apartment of her own somewhere. If nothing else, she needed a place to stash her loot. :p

How do you think she would have gotten to Motavia? I mean, with the space travel ban and all. That wouldn't make it impossible, but it would be interesting to explore.

Well, she could have came to Motavia before the space travel ban went into effect.

That makes the most sense. Like if she had moved to Motavia as a small child or something.
