Any Highlander fans?

Postby Thoul » Sat Sep 15, '07, 12:03 am

Are any of you fans of the Highlander movies or TV series? I used to enjoy watching them, but I haven't seen any in a while. The other day, I saw a commercial for a new movie being shown on cable this weekend, so I've been thinking about it a little.

I have seen the Highlander movies and some of the TV series. I much prefer the movies myself. All the actors are good, but to me the original Highlander, Christopher Lambert (I think that is his name) is the absolute best. My favorite Highlander movie is the one with he and Sean Connery in it. I think that is the second movie, but not sure on that as it's been so long since I have seen it. If Lambert is in this new movie, it might be worth seeing, otherwise, I just don't know.

Sean Connery was in both the first and second movie. You're probably thinking of the first one. Most people seem to like it more.

I don't think Christopher Lambert (yep, right name :D) is in this movie. At least, I haven't seen him in the commercials. It looks like it will just be the guy from the TV show.

Well, I saw the new Highlander movie. To put it plainly, I thought it mostly stunk! I won't spoil it for anyone who may still get a chance to see it. I'm sure they will probably show it over again and again like they do most movies. It certainly changes a few things we have come to know about the Highlander people, though.

I saw the first movie, but not any of the recent ones. I missed the last one entirely. On the series, I saw a few of the early episodes but missed most of it. In my area, the series aired only on one channel and at about 2 am. I was still in school at the time I think, so I couldn't stay up that late often.

I did catch part of an anime Highlander movie on Sci-FI channel one night. It didn't seem very interesting and used a totally different character. He was obsessed with revenge beyond the point of disbelief.

I remember seeing an advertisement for that. So, you wouldn't recommend it? It sounds like you didn't enjoy it.

No, not at all. It had some hokey reincarnation story for his girlfriend and the Highlander himself was a bit nuts. There's no connection to the rest of the franchise aside from the immortal McCloud taking heads of other immortals thing.
