In the original Phantasy Star, the octopus family of monsters looked like giant chestbursters from the Alien movie series. Phantasy Star: Deluxe Edition redesigned that foe to look more like a real octopus, instead of a movie monster. But instead of simply being more original in enemy designs, the game transfers the chestburster look to the sandworms! The monsters in the worm family used to look like standard worms, with the addition of a single, circular eye. Instead, they now have actual faces, complete with a deadly looking grin. The variant of the family displayed here is the Leech, even though it is referenced internally by the name sandworm.

Tremors is actually a pretty fun movie, I agree! I was expecting it to be really campy, and I guess it was, but it was a great ride through and through.
