Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Josh Kain is memorable to any player of Phantasy Star II, if only for his introduction to Rolf and friends. He arrives with a very strange accent. Kain freely admits that he is not of much use in fighting the biomonsters that run wild across Motavia. Instead, he suggests tagging along when there are robots to be defeated. If there is one thing Kain is good at, that's breaking anything mechanical.

Phantasy Star II introduced many new features to the Phantasy Star series that became staple features in most of the following games. One of these was the concept of static character portraits in the status screen. For the case of this game, these portraits are available at Rolf's home in Paseo and accompany short background texts about each character.
