I got mine from the song "The Cage" by Sonata Arctica, my favorite band. Here's the lyrics and you can probably figure out how I extrapolated the username from them.

The Cage
Next Pokemon game(s): Pearl
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation

Mine's not too hard to figure out. Well...at least 50% of it, anyway.

My name has two general influences.

1. The "Captain" basically comes from my liking of the captains of Star Trek and other sci-fi franchises. I grew up with Captain Picard, so...I guess you could say HE'S the first 50 percent.

2. Do I really have to say where Spyro came from?

Anymore, this name is much more than a fan's username. I've developed it into an independent character, and developed a large fic-verse from it as well.

That reminds me. I never said how I got Atlinsmere, just my old Trenzer one.

How I got Atlinsmere was the fact that I got sick of Trenzer was being used by many other so I was talking to Snorb on AIM. I told him to pick like 3 or 4 random consonants, and 2 vowels, I already had the other vowel and consonants or somethings like that. In the end, it was Atlinsmer, but then I added another E to the end and got my second original name, which hopefully this one won't be stolen, Atlinsmere.
A simple text based signature? That's impossible!

This is the only board I go by my real name for my username. On Gamefaqs I go by Numan_lord (inspired by Lord Rutsu from the Phantasy Star Universe games) and on the Anime Australia Madman boards I go by the name MeltingIce (Something unique I made up ). I like a bit of variety.

You know RW...I'm going to take a guess and say that you got your name based on Lyle from PSIII :D

Another user name that I use from time to time is Dais, which I blatantly stole from Dais in the Ronin Warriors anime. I love that show!
