Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Ok so I've picked back up making my PSG I walkthrough and wouldn't you know the Roadpass is giving me trouble once again, much like it does with everyone. So heres the request.. For anyone who has PSG I, if you could.. maybe take a hour or so a day to try and help figure out this part of the game I could impliment it in the walkthrough and then when I finish it the world will be a happier place for those of us who play this game and get stuck at this part of the game. I've just taken about 2hrs of my day so far trying to figure it out.. I think the only thing I know is you "have" to have 600 meseta prior to the item popping up since it costs 600, so I believe it wont pop up without the money.. I'm working my way down the npc's in the three towns so I'm hoping we can figure this out. Guess I'll just have to pick a specific order, then repeat if it doesnt work.. >,< anyways HELP!

I actually just played through this last month ^_^ I speak Japanese, and getting that road pass was still tough! Did you pretty much talk to everyone in Camineet, Parolit and Scion two or three times already? Did you talk to the guards blocking the spaceport? If you're still stuck, I can load it up and go through the steps again and tell you exactly who to talk to ^^ If you're on aim, my sn is 'dianaukiuki'

These are the notes I made for myself when I played that part of the game. I was thinking of making a walkthrough, but never got around to it. As I recall, I tried to get the quickest possible path to getting the roadpass from the start of the game and this is what I came up with.

Camineet

• Go to northwest house for laco pot
• Go to warehouse top path for 2000 mst

Parolit

• Talk to all NPCs (including guards!)
• Talk to NPC in Northeast house
• Use L1 party chat

Scion

• Talk to all roaming NPCs
• Talk to NPC in top house
• Talk to blue haired NPC near bottom of town 4 times
• Go to shop, ask repeatedly until roadpass appears

When you're talking to the NPCs, try talking to them several times in a row, too. A lot of them have several messages to speak.

Yea, I don't have aim so if you could load it up and give it a go I'd appreciate the order of the NPC's so I can put it in the guide. I'm gonna try Thoul's way which is somewhat my way except I didn't talk to that one NPC 4 times but any help is appreciated and will be credited for in the guide.

Omg, I can't believe it.. I figured it out.. It was so simple.. the easiest thing in the world to do.. All you have to do is this...

Grab the 2000 m
Get the pot
learn about the pass in Parlot * whatever town is called*
go to scion, talk with all Npc's 4 times outside the houses first, then inside. then repeat with the NPC's outside and one of the guys will have a added text box.. after you've talken with all of the outside NPC's again the guy will not have the pass in the shop, but when you cancel you'll get a new message, repeat talking to him and after 3 times he'll have it in the shop..

You see I got it by accident a minute ago and I'm like SON OF A!!!! I didn't memorize who i talked to.. then i had my theory.. so I saved, restarted and did what I just did.. twice now and its happened both times.. So now I can impliment this in my guide and can finally advance on with the walkthrough... I hope this helps everyone out with this annoying part until I can get my walkthrough done.. ^_^

Nice, that's a lot easier way to do it. This is really the hardest part of the game, IMO. Do you remember who you have to speak to in Parolit? I think it's one of the guards, but I'm not sure because it's been so long since I played.

Lol, I just spent the past little while talking to everyone in Camineet and Parolit and Scion again and again before the tool shop owner in Scion finally offered that Road Pass. You figured it out already too, doing exactly what I did, so yay! At least it's resolved. There's some other tricky part that comes up after you go to Eppi... I got stuck in some loop where the village leader told me to talk to a girl named Marie in Parolit, and when i did, all she would say is "You can't get through the lost woods without a compass!" -- Well I was just there, I know that! Thanks, NPC logic! There was apparently some straggler in Eppi who I neglected to talk to for a 100th time.
Oh well, if you need any other help though or want any parts translated, I'll try what I can ^^
