Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Today marks the 12th anniversary of Fringes of Algo! To mark this occasion, I have upgraded the forum software (and site backend) to a new version with many added features.

Unfortunately, a few features of the old site are not present on or compatible with the new software. The big ones are the shoutbox, download section, quizzes, and fanart submission. Don't worry, though! I'll be adding a new shoutbox in the very near future. The download and quiz sections are currently running off the old board backend until I have time to convert them fully to the new one. Fanart submission will be reopened at some point; I plan to tie that more closely into the forums so submissions can be edited, commented on, and so forth. Some other missing features will be forthcoming as well.

Also, take note: the boards have a new address! They're now at http://www.psalgo.com/boards/ instead of http://www.psalgo.com/bb/. Using the old address will redirect you to the new one when trying to access anything other than the downloads or quiz sections.

If you encounter any problems or have any questions about the new forums, feel free to ask. I've probably forgotten to mention something here.

I definitely dig the new look. Obviously, as you stated, some things are not compatible at the moment. I see you mentioned the fan art section, does that also include fan fiction? Clearly I can see that you cannot do anything in the fan fiction section but read, however I wasn't sure if this is included in the fan art part of things or not. Again this new look is awesome!

I like the new board, at least the way at looks. However, I haven't yet found the 'view unread posts' option, if it's still there. Maybe I just haven't found it yet and it's somewhere...

I knew I forgot to mention something. Fan fiction is another thing that is not fully compatible with the new forum. I had some custom things on the old forum that I need to work into the new one (mainly the layout and review topics). Fan fiction can still be read, but not submitted until I get that back in line.

There's a "View new posts" option in the Search menu of the header. I thought it was the same thing, but I see now that it is not. I'll be putting a View unread posts option in there soon, hopefully tonight.

Ok, now we've got a proper View unread posts option. It's in the Search menu with the various other options.

Happy 12th anniversary to Fringes Of Algo, and congratulations Thoul on that and on the new look for the forums, etc. Everything looks terrific. I posted in another thread about missing the shout box before I saw your posts here, so I have my answer about that.

Everything seems so big. But thats a good thing I like the make over this site has gone through
