Another painting, this one is famous for being the front cover art of Phantasy Star III's Japan release. This version on the Saturn collection is much darker than most renditions of the piece, but still shows a nice contrast of Rhys standing before the dark clouds that are coming. I always found it interesting that his sword has a finger guard similar to the trigger guard on a gun. I wonder why that is there?

Is it just me, or do Japanese versions of games frequently have better cover art?

I don't think it's just you....not that the other art is terrible, just not up to par with the Japanese art

I could imagine this being a painting in an art gallery
