My Letter to Sega

Postby The $ Avenger » Wed Jul 11, '07, 1:37 am

Back in November, my desire for a new Classic Phantasy Star game and a new Skies of Arcadia title boiled over and I started up a minor letter writing campaign, wrote Sega a letter and mailed it off to them. I'd forgotten all about it until yesterday, when I received a hand-written envelope from Sega with a response inside. Here it is:

Dear Mr. Williams,

Thank you for your recent correspondence. We appreciate that you have taken the time to write us.

Thank you very much for your compliments about Phantasy Star I-IV and Skies of Arcadia! We're very happy to hear that you like them as much as we do, and we never get tired of hearing compliments about our games!

We also note your desire to see Sega produce another turn-based strategy game in the vein of the aforementioned games. Your are obviously a very dedicated gamer and your opinion is very valuable.

There's some other general stuff, but you get the idea. Just thought I'd share this with the rest of you Phantasy Star fans. Hopefully this well help nudge Sega in the right direction!

I'm surprised that you even got a reply! It's nice to know that someone at Sega still reads letters like that.

Yeah, I was beginning to wonder if a bunch of stiffs worked for Sega. I guess there's at least one non-stiff.

That's cool that they took the time to write you back. Maybe they will take what you said to heart and get someone working on some new games. :)

I was pleased, for sure.

:x Another non-RPG Sega E3 evidently. Later this year they still have their "big surprise". I think it will be at their Tokyo festival. I would surmise that any possible Phantasy Star news would be premiered over there first anyway.
