Special Claws in Phantasy Star... all the same?

Discuss the saga of Algo, where the legend began.

Special Claws in Phantasy Star... all the same?

Postby newsblade » Tue Apr 22, '08, 12:26 am

Ok, here's the theory.

Silver Fang
Before AW342 high purity Laconia was already forbidden to be forged,[026] sold or used[025] in weapons by Algol’s ruler (Reipard Lashiec).[001][002][003] Only non-laconian or low purity laconian (silver)[004][005] weapons could be bought on shops. This was the case of a simple “silver fang” Alisa bought to Myau.[061][006] The silver fang defeated Lashiec and Dark Force (in Palma).[007]

Animal Claw
In AW1284 musk cats have a treasure called "animal claw" that they would give to Nei if she was alive at that part of the game.[027]. Musk cats cannot craft or buy items [008][009][018][022] so the “animal claw” was a weapon gained in the past, that passed through generations of musk cats, making it an ancient weapon. The only weapon that was in possession of a Musk Cat, that we know, was Silver Fang.

If this is Silver Fang, then who possesses "Animal Claw" are Myau's descendents who live in Skure (Dezolis). However, if they are really Myau’s descendents, then Myau is not in Skure anymore. He could be dead or simply missing (what happened to him is a mystery), but the fact is that 3 years have passed since their independence from humans[029] and they still didn’t choose a chief,[028] an elderly master...

Eventually they, or their descendents, went to Mysterious Valley[030] since 1000 years latter no more musk cats lived Skure[035]. They must had the help of someone (Myau?, Lutz?, both?)[031][032][033][034] to find the "Mysterious Valley", since, in PSII they were in dangerous during 3 years and never left Skure.[029].

Nei Claw
In AW2281 an old man (in Chaz and Nei3rd perspective), named Roy, tells that, after PSII[036], a blue haired guy (Lutz or Rolf) entrusted a claw to his ancestor.[037] That ancestor lived near the Silver-Dome[039] (in Motavia) where Nei2nd was being studied by an AI called Gene (at least)[040][041].

Like the “animal claw” this one was intended to be given to Nei2nd[042] and, in fact, was later given to her (to Nei3rd, a direct clone from Nei2nd who possess Nei2nd memories)[043][044]. As we know by PSIV and PSIII, Espers (Sages/Telementals/Casts/Caseals/whatever) could baptize/bless/’put their feelings into’ weapons[045] in order to conceal them holy powers[059][049][002]. In some cases,[058] on that kind of ceremony they would give them the ancient word of power (“Nei”)[057] creating the "nei weapons"[054] (weapons became baptized as “Nei”[060][054]); in this case it was Lutz who create “Nei Claw”[050] in the same way Espers did in PSIII with Myun’s claw.

Coincidently, in all Phantasy Star games only legendary weapons (for example: weapons that faced DF)[060][058] became “Nei”, which could also apply to “silver fang”, since, like the legendary weapons from PSIII, was also used in the ancient battle against DF[007].

The Neiclaw was last heard to be in Seed (the bio-dome) -that was in AW2281-, but in AW2284 (PSIV) there's no trace of it there.[056]

Silver Tusk
Silver Tusk is in possession of a “master elder” musk cat (in Dezoris).[051][052] The “old man” says that it has been passed through several generations,[053] a characteristic shared by “animal claw” and “nei claw”. Like “animal claw” this weapon is also a treasure from Musk cats and like both “animal” and “nei” claws[042] it is intended to be held by a newman.[051][052][053] Another characteristic is the low purity of Laconia this claw is made,[004][005] like Myau’s ultimate weapon from PSI.[007] Like a nei weapon (any of them) it was made to fight darkness.[049][050] In short, this last claw gathers all the aspects from the previous ones.

5 things that prove(?) they are all the same:
1- The neiclaw was created by Lutz and was intended for Nei2nd.[042][050] In the case we resurrect her why didn't Lutz give the neiclaw to her like he did with Neisword to Eusis? (PSgen2) Because he didn't have any, that's why. The legendary weapon was with the musk cats at Skure... and she already possessed it.
2- An item can only be transformed into "nei" if the weapon was already legendary. The only legendary claw is the silver fang.[058]
3- Silver fang is the silver tusk[yeah!]
4- Very unlikely Musk cats' could have other fang as a treasure that wasn't from Myau's.[006]
5- The thing that most amazed Chaz about Neiclaw was the fact it was only a single hand claw.[021] This could be explain if we have in mind musk cats could only use 1 claw (on their mouth as a fang).[023][024]

[006] For beeing a cat Myau has no hands and she/he cannot perform simple tasks like we do with our hands.[008][009]. Musk cats cannot open the top of the bottles[008][009][018] so Myau cannot also forge weapons. He cannot buy or trade things, not only because of his/her hands but also because cats are objects of trade.[010][011][012] He needs the help of humans, dezorian or motavian to live with humans (this includes buying things).
[007] In PSI there are only two weapons for Myau. The "Iron Fang" (Attack power +10) and "Silver Fang" (attack power +30) which is the weapon used to defeat Lashiec and DF (it is the last to be found and it has more (+20) attack power the other).

[011] "When you're lonely, the best way to console yourself is to keep a pet!" (Publicity in a newspaper)
[012] Three years before PSII everyone could buy musk cats like it was done in PSI[011][010]. In PSIV Dezolis still uses pets as a business[014][015] but since Musk Cats are hidden in Mysterious Valley they turned to Dezo penguins and even started to domestic dezo owls[013]. In PSII Musk Cats were also a profit for other business like magic caps sellers[016] or its black market[017].
[013] "The Dezolis Penguin is really cute! We made improvements to the Dezo Owl species so that they can be bred in captivity." (PSIV, Dezolian at Zosa)
[014] "The egg of the Dezolis Penguin is our special product!" (PSIV, Dezolian at Zosa)

[017] "Recently, there's been many fake magic caps going around. Please be careful." (Publicity in a newspaper)
[018] Only with much training a musk cat can open the top of a bottle,[019] Still, crafting weapons is impossible for them.[022] The only way to have weapons is to steal them from from defeated Skeletons in Parma,[020] that only exists once every millennium (with DF). Besides that he can only use a single claw... the silver fang is a solo claw like neiclaw.[021]
[019] "Meow. I can get the top off of this bottle, meow." (Musk cat with -possible- Myau's bottle, PSIV)
[020] "They [skeletons from Palma] are pretty easy. Just attack them normally and they should die, leaving an Iron Fang, a weapon for Myau." (Orakio's walkthrough)
[021] "But normally isn't a claw something you're supposed to wield in both hands? There's only one of them.. (Chaz, Phantasy Star IV: Sealed Memories)
[022] A tusk for cats is a claw for humans[024]: since musk cats cannot use their hands (the only record we have is that only a one musk cat could open the top of a bottle and even he was barging about that)[019]. They had to use their mouth in order to perform attacks[023] with those weapons, that's why they could only use a claw instead of two.[021]
[023] Although a US cover it expresses the same idea: http://gaygamer.net/images/ps-cover.jpg
[024] Rika can equip Silver Tusk with any other claw. She uses Silver Tusk like it is a claw. (PSIV equipment menu and in-game battle)
[025] "Do you know of a robot called ‘Hapsby’? It’s a robot made out of laconia! But it seems to have been dumped into a scrap heap!"
[026] "That laconian pot was worth a fortune! Thanks a bundle!" (PSI)

[028] "I'm the chief of this valley. Hmm, there is good in your eyes. No wonder you were let through."
[029] "It's such a surprise to see a human other than the clone lab Grandma! Everybody left three years ago."
[030] "This is the mysterious valley, meow" (PSIV)
[031] "Somehow, we get a feeling of fond rememberance from you, meow." (PSIV)
[032] "Very seldom do humans enter this place, meow." (PSIV)
[033] They went to Mysterious Valley to never happen that again! Being made human pets and then abandoned by them. They refugee from humans and dezolians to be free and protected from danger.[028]
[034] In my opinion, Lutz turned "animal claw" (Myau's silver fang) into a Neiclaw after leading them into Myst Valley (they gave ito to him -or to Rolf- instead of Nei, since she was dead).
[035] "All that is left of the musk cats are here, meow." (PSIV)
[036] Lutz created neiclaw,[050] but he was in cryogenic slee from AW1274 until AW1284,[038] then the blue haired man (Lutz or Rolf) could only give the claw after PSII.
[037] "From a long, long time ago, back when monsters had come to this village. A blue-haired young man who had saved this village had entrusted the weapon to one of my ancestors for hiding. He said he would come back once more for it. But that young man never again came to this town."
[038] Lutz also waked up every ten years, however before AW1282 biomonsters didn't exist and when the blue haired man gave nei claw to Roy's ancestors they already existed,[037] so [036] remains true.
[039] "Mmn, the dome that you're searching for is probably 'that place'. It's about as far away as the village I live in (...) this mark here is this village. So, leave the town through the north gate and head towards the north east. The landmark will be this rocky mountain. If you make it there, you should be able to see the dome from it." (Roy, Phantasy Star IV: Sealed Memories)
[040] "You are NM-1153. Based on a sample of genetic information prior to the 'Great Collapse', I was able to complete you by cloning the damaged portions of DNA. You are the ultimate masterpiece of the NM-1000 Series." (Gene, Phantasy Star IV: Sealed Memories)
[041] "As a remaining system of the 'Great Collapse', it is my task to perform Neitype research. You were created as a step towards birthing a new race capable of surviving the harsh environments following the 'Great Collapse'."
[042] "This is called the "Nei Claw", and I've heard it was created for the person who bears its name." (Roy, Phantasy Star IV: Sealed Memories)
[043] "So in the end, I think this weapon is more suited to being in your custody than in mine. " (Roy, Phantasy Star IV: Sealed Memories)
[044] "According to calculations, this is not supposed to occur. Somehow, through cloning it seems that the subconscious part of the original specimen is making itself known. * In the form of dreams, it has been displaying itself to you in bits and pieces. "
[045] "In the past, a spell binder came to town and taught me to put my feelings in metal. And this is the store that inherited that knowledge."
[046] "Use the Nei weapons to destroy Dark Force."
[047] Low grade laconia (silver)[002] or high grade laconia[049] can conceal holy powers. Silver items are using magic (thunder, flaeli, hewn) to compensate[048]. However, every metal can be embeeded with power [045]
[048] Here http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/genesis/ps4/weapons.shtml's a table where you can figure what might be the weapons that are using the power of something. You'll conclude they must be the silver ones since they are beeing seld in Dezo and have less power attack than laconia.
[049] Item description: Laconian Rod "Rod made of hi-Laconia. Has power of 'Efess'."
[050] "It was the legendary magic user Lutz who created it" (Roy, Phantasy Star IV: Sealed Memories)
[051] "The old man has a treasure, meow." (Before receing Silver Tusk) "Please put the old man's treasure to good use, meow." (After receing Silver Tusk) (Rika is the only member able to equip and use this treasure)
[052] "We haven't even seen the old man's treasure, meow." (Before receing Silver Tusk) Please put the old man's treasure to good use, meow. (After receing Silver Tusk) (Rika is the only member able to equip and use this treasure)
[053] "This is a treasure that has been passed on generation after generation. Take it with you. It's the Silver Tusk!" (Old man to Chaz's group. Rika is the only member able to equip and use this treasure)
[054] "Use the Nei weapons to destroy Dark Force."
[055] See the forum treads: "Silver Tusk vs Guard Claw"
[056] In my opinion Lutz (Rune) returns to give that claw back to musk cats,[031] since Nei is dead and musk cats could choose the next protector to have it when he (Rune) brings he/she there. Also the blue haird man promised that would come for the neiclaw[037]... this was the only way to not break the promise.
[057] "Nei is the word of ultimate power."
[058] "The lost word cannot be revealed until all five legendary weapons are gathered together."
[059] "The ancient word of power is the word "Nei."
[060] "The ancient heroes used the legendary weapons. These are Orakio's Sword, Miun's Claw, Siren's Shot, Laya's Bow, and Lune's Slicer."
[061] "At the end is the village of Loar [in Motabia] (...) There is also a Silver Fang here (...) Buy Myau a Silver Fang"

Ah, an excellent post and with lot's of research to back it up! Very nice. :)

This is the first I've heard of the animal claw, as far as I remember. I can see it being the the Silver Tusk/Fang, if the cat that has it is a descendant of Myau. That makes some problems with the Old Man = Myau idea, but I suppose it could work out. Of course, you realize this theory also means that Nei would have to survive the battle with the Earthmen, so the Animal Claw could be returned to the Musk Cats or Lutz?

5- The thing that most amazed Chaz about Neiclaw was the fact it was only a single hand claw.[021] This could be explain if we have in mind musk cats could only use 1 claw (on their mouth as a fang).[023][024]

[021] "But normally isn't a claw something you're supposed to wield in both hands? There's only one of them.. (Chaz, Phantasy Star IV: Sealed Memories)

I think Chaz was just wrong on this count. All of the claws sold in the games are just for one hand. It's possible to use two, but when buying or finding the claws there is only one of them. A shield can be used in the other hand. I would just put this down to a young Chaz being unfamiliar with the weapons and not realizing that claws for each hand have to be acquired separately.

Of course, whatever line came right after the provided quote from Chaz could change that.

Oh, and you got the years wrong on the Nei Claw part. Instead of 1281, it should be 2281, and so on.

Lol, thank you. I started to get tired when I reach the 40th foot note.

Oh, and you got the years wrong on the Nei Claw part. Instead of 1281, it should be 2281, and so on

You are right! (I miss 1000yrs). I'll correct that right now [edits will be in red, just to make sense].

This is the first I've heard of the animal claw, as far as I remember.

The first time I saw animal claw was in this PSgen2 video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVA7nLw_ ... re=related
It is an extra feature you'll get if Rolf manages to revive Nei2nd. Animalclaw is the last weapon she'll receive in PSgen2 (Lutz gives her nothing).

this theory also means that Nei would have to survive the battle with the Earthmen, so the Animal Claw could be returned to the Musk Cats or Lutz?

Well, my opinion is that resurrecting Nei is an 'what if'. My conviction is based on "Phantasy Star: Sealed Memories" facts, where her last memories are shown to be her final moments, in AMeDAS, in the Eusis' arms.[1][4] (If she resurrected and went to Noah and died there, her final moments and final memories would be from that scene instead of AMeDAS. The same if she survived Noah war: her last memories would be her natural dead in AW1285 (or AW1286))[2].

But believing she didn't go to Skure doesn’t mean the animalclaw didn't exist. The cats simply wouldn't give it to any of the Rolf's party members, fact that not only happened in the remake but also in the original PSII. The extra scene was an opportunity to see that a mysterious "animal claw" (as Nei would call it) existed, where it was and who was keeping it. It serves for us to have knowledge about it... but I don't believe she ever manage to get it (like Neiclaw that was created for her but she never manage to get it). This is why I think that Lutz went to Skure to retrieve the claw and went to Motavia in order to be near Nei (Roy's ancestors -like Roy- lived near the silver dome).[this was already citated in the last post] Being Rolf the blue haired man dosen't kill this idea, since Lutz could have sent him to perform this task, after he defeated Earthman (if he didn't die). It is possible that during that moment (the retrieving of neiclaw) Lutz helped musk cats to find their new home.[3]

That makes some problems with the Old Man = Myau idea, but I suppose it could work out.

I had that in mind when I wrote this. Not only I wanted to be careful with that Myau's dispute, but also with all special weapons from I, II and IV, as well as Noah's battle ending =P.

In this theory I didn’t want to support nor attack Oldman=Myau's relation, but since I'm Myau=Oldman supporter I left some small observations that might help me on that... I wanted this theory to be as objective as possible (but that was impossible, lol). I tried to not contradict/support other theories that are, or might be, chained with this subject. I'll post an explanation how this theory still supports Myau as Old Man.

Gene: Very well. To the extent which we can, let us reveal the information that is sealed away in your subconsciousness. *
Nei: Ehh.. Uwahhh!!" (Phantasy Star: Sealed Memories)
[2]"Nei: Thank you. It makes me really happy that you feel that way. But you know, Rudy, even though we're able to talk with each other and laugh with each other, we're still far too different from each other. Yes, for instance, humans can have children and give their lives meaning.* But you know I.. er, no, we neitypes.. aren't able to do that. Moreover, our lifespan lasts only 3 or 4 years. It's so short that you can't even compare it to a human's." (Phantasy Star: Sealed Memories)

Yeah, I was thinking of that issue with the memories as well. It might be possible that she has no memories of the post-Neifirst events if she was cloned/grown based on a DNA sample or clone that was made before the original Nei's resurrection. Thanks to this what if, we really have three parallel Phantasy Star timelines: the original games, the remakes without reviving Nei, and the remakes when Nei is revived.

It's a shame the PSIV remake wasn't created. It would have been nice to see how they would have followed up the Nei resurrection as a plot point in that. Since Generation 1 & 2 included some things from the Compendium book's timeline and the Text Adventures, I bet "Generation 3" would have touched on Sealed Memories.

I think the same, after all "Sealed Memories" is placed between the battle of the 3rd DF and trip to Ryucross. To tell you the truth, I believe sealed memories actions were to take place in PSIV game, but were skipped to the drama CD. I have this feeling because of the ruins near Kadary. (oh no! here comes another theory =(

Image
See those 3 pink dots? There are a total of 4 ruins in PSIV, but only one can be accessed (the spaceship near Nalya). The first time I passed to Kadary continent I jumped over the ruin near Aiedo's passageway and... nothing happened (the same for the other two).

So what were those ruins all about? PSdrama locations description may give us some clues:

Location #1: Tiria
By the time of PSIV Chaz tells to his friends that Tiria doesn’t exist anymore,[01] but it was near the spaceport of Nurvus.[02] In PSIV (AW 2284) it only passed 3 years since the last time we heard about Tiria (AW 2281) so we are free to assume that its ruins are still there. We also know that in AW 1281 there was a ruin between Tiria and the Town of old-man Roy.[03]

Location #2: Roy’s town
It’s easy to localize Roy’s town since he tells Chaz to exit through the north gate.[04] Specifying "north" gate means there’s another gate. In PSIV the only towns which have two gates (a north and a south gate) are Aiedo and Kadary (and we already know that Aiedo isn't Roy's town, because that's where Nei came from)[05][06]. Roy also bought a new warehouse to place his archeological findings[07] (he used to explore many ruins from ancient civilizations)[08], but was attacked by biomonsters because he kept Nei’s necklace[09]. Kadary also has an abandoned, semi-destroyed, warehouse with an ancient relic (laser slasher).

Location #3: PS drama Ruins (and Tiria again)
Since Kadary seems to be Roy’s Town and Tiria is also in Kadary’s continent, PS drama ruins must be also there. Like was said, Tiria may have been the first town Nei visited since the beginning of her quest, so in order to catch Kadary’s continent without passing through Mile, she must have taken "Aiedo's cave" path. Coincidently there is a ruin’s icon near the exit of that cave, so that must be where Tiria was located. If so, the "Ruins" in PS-drama (where Chaz and Nei3rd stayed for the night) are those ruins between Tiria (the cave's ruins) and Kadary.

Location #4: Silver Dome
We know that -during the events of PSdrama- Nei3rd left Aiedo and, after walking for some days, she found the Silver Dome. So, -when she excaped from that dome- how could Nei have traveled so far from the Silver Dome to Aiedo and yet don’t remember anything? There is an anime called Elfen Lied and the cat-hear girl escapes from her dome and gets drowned in the water. She is rescued by two kids who were on a beach, but she has lost her memories. But this isn’t Elfen Lied, it is Phantasy Star! Ok… in PSIII Ryhs saves Maya who was drowned in the sea. He saves her but she lost her memories.

Now for PSIV: Roy also tells us that Silver Dome is located northeast of his town.[04] There’s a ruin northeast of Kadary and it is near a sea. If she escaped from that dome, she may have tried to escape by sea. Then she got drowned and when she woke up she was rescued by some person of Aiedo.[05] The Silver Dome must also not be too far from Nurvus, since Wren and Demi found it minutes latter of Gene’s (the super computer from that biodome) alert[10].

=end of the theory=

As you see, things -in this case- fits so easily that I'm forced to believe those charted (but impossible to visit) ruins are for a purpose more than decoration. So I think PSIVremake would include drama aspects this time.

Sources (everything from PS-sealed memories):

[01] "Rudy: I don't know. A long time ago there was a town called Tiria right around here. Maybe it's because I used to live there."
[02] "Rudy: The four of us just arrived at Motavia's spaceport so that we could use the aero-prism to show us the way towards Ryucross. It's really far out in space, and we have no idea what could be waiting for us there. So in preparation, Forren is going to do some maintenance on our spaceship Landale. While he's overhauling the ship, the rest of us are going to take it easy for awhile."
[03] Chaz and Nei traveled from Tiria to the Ruins and, from the ruins they found Roy that tells: "Roy: Mmn, the dome that you're searching for is probably 'that place'. It's about as far away as the village I live in. If you wanna go, I'll tell you all about it."
[04] "Roy: Well if it's allright with you then I ain't got no complaints. Ahh. I can't see well -- ah ok, this mark here is this village. So, leave the town through the north gate and head towards the north east."
[05] "Nei: ... It's already been about 2 years since then. I was found in the desert nearby Aiedo. Why I had collapsed in such a place, where I was born, and how I ended up there -- I honestly couldn't recall any of it."
[06] "Nei: Huh, me? Aah, before coming to that town we were just in, I was working in Aiedo as a hunter."
[07] "Rudy: Wow, you've really cleaned the place up, eh old man? The last time I came up here you could barely move around.*
Roy: Ah, yeah I do most of my business in a new storehouse."
[08] "Rudy: Old Man? Old Man Roy!!
Roy: Rudy, huh? What are you doing over here? You aren't at the usual old ruins?*"
[09] "Rudy: What happened here!?
Man: A bio-monster suddenly came inside the town! Old Man Roy is...
Rudy: Oh, no!
Nei: Bio-Monsters aren't supposed to come to places inhabited by people!
Rudy: ROY!! Please let me through!
[people talking in background]
Rudy: Old Man! Get ahold of yourself! C'mon!
Roy: Rudy..?
Rudy: Old Man!
Roy: Nei... Where is Nei?
Nei: I'm right here, Grandfather!
Roy: Be careful... they.. the monsters were after your... ring... "
[10] "[sounds of machinery being torn apart ]
Gene: Stop that, 1153. Those capsules contain your sisters in them.
Nei: I've had enough! I've had enough of people being killed!
[more machinery can be heard being torn apart]
Nei: And with me.. with me I'll make it the last...! [pants]
Gene: At this rate, the fruits of my experiments will be destroyed.. Initiate System Defense! Initiate System Defense!
(...)
A loud rumbling sound starts up]
Rudy: Wh.. what is that?
Nei: An earthquake?
Rudy: No, it's not! Look at that wall over there!
Nei: The wall.. it's turning red and melting?
[Rumbling continues to grow louder]
Nei: What is that? A tank?
Rudy: I don't know, but... I don't think it's a tank. It's the first time I've seen something like that.
Robot: Target Resistance. Initiating the destruction of CXR-31, the Land Buster.
[sounds of the vehicle's door opening]
Forren: I will take on the Defense System. Frena, bring the two people that your sensor detected onboard the Land Buster."

I didn't forget Myau=Old man explanation.

Wow, that's a really great connection between the Drama CD and the game. I never looked into it with that much detail, so I'm really surprised that it is connected that closely. The inclusion of those ruins makes a lot more sense now than it originally did.

That could also bring the question: Did Zio "born" in Tiria or Kadary?
If he has born in Tiria, then a funny thing would have happened: we would have the two chosen ones (one from GL other from PD) living in the same orphanage. That would also explain how Tiria got into ruins between AW1281 and AW1284. Zio then left to the neighbor town to spread his message.

That's why I think they wanted to emphasize that fact. And you are right. On those lines everyone just said stupid things:

"Rudy: But normally isn't a claw something you're supposed to wield in both hands? There's only one of them.. "
Maybe all clawhunters used two claws instead of a claw and a shield (maybe other thing than that was unthinkable at that time) - a cultural thing? (When we play the game and choose to equip in that way - shield+claw - it was our decision... but still it isn't an official action taken by the characters. Unequivocally official actions are only those that are needed to complete the quest/game or the more logical action between many options, for instance, I think Alys met Saya before they went to Tonoe. The other option -less probable- is... If we decide to skip that part, after getting hurt by Zio, there will be a scene here Hahn introduces Saya to everyone outside of the hotel.)

Although all Newmans (at least in Drama) started with two claws as he was used to see, he still didn't know the existence of single claws, like GenocydeClaw* (Air Castle).** Robots and Androids also seem to be predefined to use a single claw (on the beginning) as well: Myun, Miew and Blauzen. However Chaz could never guess since he never got outside Motavia.

* - At first I thought "genocide claw" was DF's arm cut from the last PSI battle, because on PSIVj cover Rika had that huge claw that looked just like Prophallus arm. It would explain what was that claw doing in Lashiec’s castle), however when I used more brightness on my monitor I found that claw was robotized so that wasn't possible (compendium also says it doesn’t appear on the game).
** - Silver Claw (MystValley) was skipped on purpose. Plasma Claw (Nurvus) was also skipped since it seams to be a massive serialized weapon as its description suggests.

"Roy: Who knows. Maybe the young man only used just the one."
Neither Lutz nor Rolf used claw as a weapon. While one uses Rods and slashers the other uses knives and swords. His guess was wrong. He also seems to share the same surprise as chaz about the one-claw thing.

Nei and the Cake Shop

This will be a very short theory (it's still related to PSdrama like the one written above). Ok, we see what are those ruins doing on Kadary continent, but we still don't get what is a cake shop doing on such strange place.

Chaz asked the same question to its owner Naura.
PSIV wrote:NAURA: Our family has been running this bakery for generations. We can knead the dough better down here in the basement because of the temperature and humidity!
CHAZ: I see. Though, I don't see why you have to keep the store front area down here too.
Chaz mentioned the store front area, but he forgot the store localization. However, if we go back 3 years, to PSdrama events, we might get an answer as well.

In Sealed Memories Nei3rd stated she was found near Aiedo. Since Nei also said she lived there (and worked as a hunter for about 2 years) we have to assume that it was a citizen of Aiedo that raised her.

The problem is that she can't stay many hours inside a town or a village because that town/village will be immediately attacked by Monsters (Nei3rd has a necklace that transmits a frequency that calls them). So, how can she possible be raised by someone and lived so much time on a city?

The only citizen that could raise Nei3rd is the own Naura (the backer of Aiedo), because he not only has an house outside the city walls but also has a room, underground, that might block the frequency to those monsters. I think there's no real chance for anyone else besides Naura and his house.

It was also possible that before finding Nei he had a shop (building) inside the walls of Aiedo. If that was the case and if he really was the person who raised Nei3rd, it's understandable why he moved outside the town. He may have been forced by Aiedo's citizens when he brought the little Nei there and monsters started to attack this town. That may also be the moment when Alys got the famous motto "make them into pieces Lyla" (basically she saved the town, +/- like Alis in Termi).*

The citizens might also have tried to kill Nei3rd, but Alys -that saved the day and gained (or already had) their respect- could have made a deal with citizens; something like this: "you (Naura) go live outside the walls and you (people) live her alone". In short, it's a family curse, since in PSO and PSI the cake shop was always difficult to access.

* - PSdrama also hints that Nei knew Alys (the only time Roy mentioned "Alys" to Chaz, Nei -for some reason I don't remember- wasn't near them and she couldn't listen their conversation (I think they made this happen on purpose) otherwise we would expect a comment from her). Anyway it's obvious she knew her, because Nei was a hunter of Aiedo.
