We need a PS2.5

Sega needs to make it more like PSO since Sony hates 2D games on the Playstation 3. It needs the online engine because when you start this game, you and the other players have to defeat the humans. This game would begin where PS2 left off. Or when you start the game there would be 3 choose your own adventures like: 1. Battle the humans(for online multiplayer). 2. Find away to escape(1 player not online, but you get to choose who you want to be). 3. Give up(you die, but you get to see like a whole 30 minute PS anime on what happens to them).

Personally, I don't like PSO and it's not because Rolf, Chaz or Arisa aren't in there. It's because it isn't an old school RPG anymore. Transforming Phantasy Star into a shooter was already done in that game (almost).

I think the magic of the PSII ending (and many PS things) are the uncertain of what in fact did happened about something (and the possibility they gave us to speculate about what in fact happen, according to disperse information). I would also love to see real-anime scenes of any Phantasy Star game, but 30 minutes of Rolf's party dead bodies would be a little too much...

There are already Phantasy Star II 0.8 (PS adventure), 0.9 (PS text adventures) and 0.4 (PS gaiden = PSI1.4) with a lot more things to visit and conquer than “noah”.

I think a follow-up back on Motavia after the ending of PS II could work. Maybe someone gets sent to investigate what happened to Rolf and company then things take off from there.

I like that idea, of a follow up start on Motavia. That would allow for some of PSII's characters to be recruited or appear as NPCs with others having fallen during the Earthmen fight. It could deal with the rapid climate changes that would be occurring the fall of technology, and the creation of Zelan as the center of the new network. Even Wren and Daughter could be part of it.

I do agree that the game would need more 3D aspects than 2D. I think something like Skies of Arcadia would work best, with one character moving through a 3D world and going into a 3D battle environment for random fights.
