Writer's Strike

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Fri Nov 2, '07, 8:46 pm

So, what does everyone think of the Hollywood writers going on strike? I heard on tv that there are already enough scripts and stuff saved up until sometime next year, probably for TV viewing and stuff. Only thing is, it is only less than 2 months until next year. I'm not sure how this strike may effect big screen movies and everything. Probably going to be a lot of delays and things like that though.

I don't really know exactly what the writers are going on strike for now. Probably more money, benefits, etc., or something I guess. Looks like it may definately happen though.

I've heard about it delaying several upcoming movies. Overall I don't much care either way. It's not something I would pay much attention to.

It's a go. They are on strike. I heard the last strike went for about 20 something weeks, I think. Whew! Hope this one ends soon.

I heard today that most shows have new material ready up to the end of the year, but comedy shows are going into reruns already. I guess if this continues long enough, some shows could even be canceled.

Some are saying that the writers strike may soon be over with and negotiations agreed upon, but there could still be problems:

A lot of them have already been back at work for a while though, right? I remember hearing about some deals being made a few weeks ago.
