Discuss the saga of Algo, where the legend began.

No, that looks totally different, huh? Well, I guess we'll just have to keep our eyes open, then! 8)

I could understand if the supposed Phantasy Star screen turned out to be another RPG, especially one for the MegaDrive or MegaCD, but one of the arcade Willow games???

wow, I don't think so :)

That's what they said... one of them said something about one of the characters in the pic in the magazine looking a little like Mad Martigan. I didn't think it was too likely, either, but I thought I'd post it - any lead is worth checking out, right? :)

I just wish I could find that forum thread again... I've done some more searches but I can't locate it now.

That is sweet. I knew that there was originally going to be first person dungeons but scrapped but that other stuff I never knew.

I’m still not sure, but "Sorcerer's Kingdom" seam to be the nearest game to me.

Synopses: Monsters have begun to spread in the Kingdom of Landale...
Year of release in Japan: 1991
Year of release in US: 1992/3
Platform: Sega Megadrive/Genesis

Picture:
1st character: The hero's sprite seems to change while he equips with the various kinds of armors (it stays very different from the beginning. He also seems alis with that armor).
2nd character: Astina
3rd character: (he is under a tree, so we cannot see him)
4th character: Midi (not Miew)

There are a maximum of 4 characters and they can be reordered like PSIV. In the screenshots we can see Midi (the red girl that resembles Miew) and Astina (the woman with the yellow hair and red cape).

Kingdom of Landale? I can see why that might have been confused with a Phantasy Star game.

At the risk of dating myself, I remember when that screenshot was first published. I was always under the impression that it was for an unreleased Sega CD RPG which may or may not have been a Phantasy Star game.

The screenshot looks slightly similar to the style of Cosmic Fantasy II:

It's been pretty much 100% decided on other PS game forums that that is another different game. I can't remember the name, but there was a side by side of an in-game screenshot from that game and this picture. If I remember correctly it was said to be exact. In fact, that thread is still on pscave.com

Man sega was crazy to not follow through with this game. I think from what of seen of it it looks great. It looks to be in a medieval setting like the start of PSIII. Sega why why :x

So Sorcerer's Kingdom... IS the finished version of it? I've barely heard of it, seems strange to me that i've never seen the connection mentioned on any PS sites before....
