The image of Hugh killing hundreds of earthmen with Savol is priceless. I don't think going back to Motavia afterwards would be a good idea though. I think people would take the law into their own hands.

I agree, even if they were pardoned by the Governor, that probably wouldn't stop angry people from taking the laws into their own hands. Just imagine, their way of life has just been shattered. They were used to simple life and now suddenly might be facing extinction, with all the environmental systems gone. I can imagine they were quite agitated about that.

An interesting thought just occurred to me on this subject, thanks to Snorb.

Snorb wrote:With the government on Palma blasted into their component particles thanks to Gaira, that most likely leaves the Commander-General of Motavia in charge (he seems to be the only authority figure actually seen in the game), and even if he isn't in charge of Algo, he probably has the authority to draft seven pardons (or eight, depending on which PSGen2 playthrough you're on).

In PSIV, it was said somewhere that the military on Motavia attempted to restart the climate control systems. IIRC, they built Daughter. I take "military" to mean the Commander and his subordinates, as he was the remaining leader as mentioned above. They later abandoned the Daughter plan in favor of Wren and Zelan.

Here's the catch: how did they get to Zelan, a space station? There were no ships left on Motavia! :hmm:

There were only two known working spaceships available at the time, right? That's Tyler's ship and the ship Rolf and company used to go between Motavia and Dezoris. I don't see Tyler being one to loan out his ship as he was also likely a wanted criminal (and why settle on Dezo otherwise?). So that leaves Rolf's ship, which was stuck on Dezoris, unless of course, someone from Rolf's group flew it back to Motavia. ;)

It's a better explanation than the Aeroprism.
Hardly will be more spaceships besides those two, since in PSIV we only have two: tylor's landeel and another one (maybe rolf's?) near kadary.

They could have used one of the ships that escaped from Palma and landed on Motavia.

Also, IIRC the Commander mentions to Rolf that the ship on the roof is the only functioning space ship. It's possible that there were other ships, just not in a working condition. Since MB had outlawed space travel, why bother to keep them in good shape? They could have repaired them and made them functional again.

«Welcome back. I was worried sick about you. What? You're going to Dezo without a rest?... I see. You must have thought it out. Use the spaceship on the rooftop. But, remember that you are still suspects.» [and on the rooftop] «This is Mota's only remaining spaceship. It's entirely automatic, so anyone can fly it.»

An people also say: «Wanted to be a pilot, but I guess I can't be one since there is no spaceship.»
«After the accident of 10 years ago, the use of any spaceship has been prohibited (...) The last spaceship was headed toward the outside of Algo (...) Rolf,... I may have seen such a name on the boarding list of that last spaceship»

So probably was dismantlement, but...

They could have used one of the ships that escaped from Palma and landed on Motavia.

... (you are right) Neopalm's spaceships types have their own shuttle (according to PS3)

... we will never get to a conclusion!

Just want to rectify something I said previously:
We know that Lutz returned to Motabia and performed the following tasks:
(…)
3) Built the Ladea Tower or if it already existed at that time, store the psycowand in there and seal it with an Esper Barrier

In Termi they tell us:
«In the past, a spell binder came to town and taught me to put my feelings in metal. And this is the store that inherited that knowledge.»
«It's been said that the Ladea Tower was erected by the spell binder who came to town a long time ago. I'm sure this story has gotten a little exaggerated.»
- - -
«- Alys, you know this guy?
- From a long time ago...»

So after all... it was Rune to erect Ladea Tower* - not Lutz as I said previously.

«there was some other person the other day who said he was heading for the tower too. He was tall and gazed at the statue of the heroine for quite a while»
He must have beein thinking: "why the hell I'm not here too!?"

--
* - La[n]da[l]e - LaÐa Tower - hmm... maybe too forced but in any case it's near to the village that worships Landale

Not all World-ships have their own shuttle (or the only purpose to use it was to cross spaceship's "worlds". It seems that those shuttles didn't have the capability to go further).

«According to the records... just before the explosion, some people were able to escape... This space ship was damaged and became trapped in orbit around Motavia. They floated around in space until all the humans aboard died. But the computer was able to sustain itself with its self-repairing mechanisms.» (Rika, PS4)

If the shuttle hadn't limitations they could have escaped to Motabia... but, like many others, they needed some spaceship like Tyler's.
Also even if World-ships landed safely in Motavia they cannot fit in satellites entrances. They can only land on planets because they are too big.

In short: There were only 2ships in PS2, there were only 2 ships in PSIV and, in that case, Demi's first ship was Rolf's... and the heros' lived happy ever after.

Well, there could have been other spacecraft still on Palma besides the worldships and their shuttles. I'm guessing there wasn't as much support for Mother Brain as on Motavia.
