Number of replays?

Postby Thoul » Fri May 4, '07, 9:40 pm

How many times have you replayed each game in the series after finishing it? If you don't remember exactly, take a guess. I know I will. ;)

PSI - Once.
PSIII - Five or six (replaying for a different character's ending does count :hyper: )
PSIV - Three

I haven't replayed the others yet.

Does playing it through more than once before actually beating a game count? :P

Anyhow~

PSI - Haven't beaten it just yet, and probably wont.
PSII - Played through this more than once, that's for sure, but only reached the ending one time. (which was the last time I played it)
PSIII - Too many times to count. I estimate 10-15 times since I'm not keeping track. :p
PSIV - Five, not sure.

Sure, we can count that. If you played through almost the whole thing, why not? :D

I only played through PS1 and PS2 once. I replayed PSIII probably around two times, just for different endings (I cheated and used a save to skip Rhys, though! :P). PSIV once or twice, I think.

PSI: twice. The game is so old, and limited that I find it hard to get much replay value out of it, but it was still great!
PSII: many, many times. I really couldn't say. Probably a dozen or more. A few times when I was a kid, and a bunch on my GBA copy. It's ideally suited for different challenges!
PSIII: five times. Got all the endings, and played through again once when it came out for the GBA.
PSIV: three, even counting the time through I made my mod of it. I'm about to start replaying it again now though! If I'd had a copy of it in the last decade I would've played it more for sure.

PSI: About four times I think, my new game on the emulator is either the fourth or fifth replay. My first replay was when my savegames on the rental copy were deleted after renting it again. That time I finished it and replayed one or two times.

PSII: Again, the first time was on the rental version. Then I played on KGEN98 finishing it. Replayed it when I bought my own Genesis copy and once I finish PSI on emulator I plan to start on my fourth replay.

PSIII: I started out on emulator first, KGEN98, the one that refused my savegames after a while. I started replaying on MegaDrive with my own copy, but I haven't finished it yet. I remember I took the same path as on KGEN98 though, playing the game as in my eyes it's supposed to be played, thus marrying Maia (whom you wanted to marry) and later marrying Thea who was your friend all your life. If the battery still works I might continue that game. I don't know how far I am, I think I'm still in the second generation only.

PSIV: I first played and finished it on the emulator, then replayed it three times. Finished it on my MegaDrive copy two times as well. Replayed this the most since this is simply the shortest game. That's the thing I disliked about PSIV, it's finished way to easy and quick.

So total score:
PSI: 4/5 (didn't finish the first try)
PSII: 3 (didn't finish the first try)
PSIII: 2 (not finished yet)
PSIV: 6

I'm going to have another go at PSI pretty soon without any internet maps. It'd be nice to have the accomplishment of beating that one all on my own!

Not really, the first time I played it with my brother we drew the maps ourselves. Not only to find the way out, but also for future replays. I had been looking for the old maps, but I have misplaced them for now. They are somewhere upstairs in the attic, I know that for a fact, but it's a warzone up there.
