If you were thinking winter was over with, then think again. Some very strong winter storms are merciless in the USA right now. In fact some parts of the east coast are suffering through the second winter storm (nor'easter) to hit that area in just the past week.

Yeah we had some good snow and government offices shut down today. But we know how to handle these storms fairly gracefully.

Here too, winter is not "finished" yet ! Apparently, very low temperatures to come this week end and at the start of next week !

Even though today is the last day of Winter here in the USA, I heard this morning that there may be yet another major winter storm headed to some parts of the country. This makes about the 5th or so storm headed for the same areas. They need some relief and soon!

"Last day of winter" is pretty meaningless, because when it comes down to it, the seasonable labels are just that...labels we humans apply to the shifting seasons, and those shifts don't happen right away. Turns out nature doesn't really care about our ways of measuring the passage of time and transition (which is what spring is) and just because "winter" is nearly over doesn't mean it's going to be instantly pleasant spring weather. It's going to oscillate back and forth for weeks with the general trend being towards warmer weather and away from winter precipitation. But I'm always amazed at how many people seem to be convinced that the end of winter means it's going to immediately become 70s and sunny every day until December.

Some snow here yesterday ! BUT just a little, a few, not very much...etc ! But it's so rare to notice it !
