I don't know who makes these nominations, but they certainly picked a bunch of movies that I have not seen, let alone some of them I have never even heard of. The same with the best actor and best actress categories.

"Wonder Woman" and some other movies that did well at the box office were not even nominated for best picture.

Just a reminder that the Academy Awards (Oscars) will be shown on television tonight in the USA! Check your local listings for times and channels.

I am not sure if I will watch tonight's show or not. I always used to love watching these awards shows but lately they have become major political instead of simply about movies, which I really don't like, and don't think it is the right time or place for it, but whatever! Evidently a lot of other people may feel this way too as the ratings have been way down for these types of awards shows.

Also, I really don't know that much about any of the movies nominated this year. The movies I liked did not seem to get any nominations for some reason even though they did very well at the box office. Go figure!

I did not watch the Oscars. I heard later that "The Shape Of Water" won for best picture. I may get the DVD and watch it when it comes out to see if I like it or not. I think actor Gary Oldman (he played Commissioner Gordon in the last few "Batman" movies) won best actor and Frances McDormand (sp?) won best actress, but I don't know what movies they were nominated for.
