Well Harvey finally moved out of Texas, and I think it came back on land in Louisiana or somewhere close. Now all that is left of Harvey is several rain bands, etc., moving across several states including Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, and possibly Georgia, etc.

The destruction Harvey caused will remain a good while. Still a lot of relief efforts underway to help all those affected by this disaster.

Oh, and gas prices are now going up, up, up due to a possible pipeline shutdown, etc. It has already went up probably $.50 or more in our area alone just in the past few days. Some people are predicting it may go back up to $3.00, $4.00, or more before this is over with.

Worst rainfall and flooding record ? I think it's the truth, alas...what videos and pictures horrible when you see all those roads flooded and, worst than that, all those houses full of water...:(

I read today that one family came back home to start the process of drying out and fixing their home only to find a ten foot alligator in the home. I don't think anyone was hurt, but that would have scared me to death! So, there are added dangers besides the flood waters, etc.

Also saw today where a Best Buy store in Texas, I think it was, was trying to sell bottled water for over $40.00 a pack. Wow, I know bottled water is in demand there now and probably rather scarce, but that is price gouging at it's finest, imho. Terrible to see this kind of thing happen in a natural disaster in this country where so many people are pulling together to help those in need.

Hoping all those trucks loaded up with water and other supplies (several from our State and other States) reach this area soon and provide a little help to those needing water, and other supplies.

Incredible about this alligator in the house but that doesn't surprise me at all with all this water alas...:(
And about the price of these bottles of water : there will always be some persons to try to profit... :fiery:

I'm still waiting for the damage projections to come out...I expect Harvey to surpass Katrina in total damage done.

Meanwhile, Irma is still spinning in the Atlantic and just set a new record for maximum sustained winds in the Atlantic...180 mph/290 kmh. The Caribbean is in for a rough time, and Florida has declared state of emergency as it's expected to make a landfall there before turning north.

The total damage done is always awful to hear after a catastrophe like this... :(
