Video games as therapy for Medical-Health issues

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Thu Oct 18, '07, 6:36 pm

I heard something about this on the news one day last week and found it very interesting. I think it's wonderful that video games came also be used for these types of therapy / health issues, etc. We hear so much sometimes about how video games can be bad for you so I think it's great to hear how they can be good for you as well.

Ah, I knew we'd be seeing more and more of this sort of thing thanks to the Wii. Nintendo really struck gold with the idea of the remote and this is why. Gaming has gotten a really bad rep for being an "inactive activity," something where people sit around instead of going out and getting exercise. The Wii will change all of that.

If anything will gain mainstream acceptance of video games as more than children's toys, the Wii is going to do it.

I'm glad to see that someone is moving beyond the "games are toys for little kids" mentality. :boxedin:

Maybe now games will begin to get some more respect.

A splendid idea from my perspective. Finally, a fun way to get well quickly.
