Video game collection sold

Wow, take a look at this outstanding video game collection that just sold for a huge amount of money:

The money sounds terrific but getting rid of all those video games must be a little heartbreaking.

With all due respect, I seriously have to wonder what percentage of it was shovelware.

With 11,000 games in the lot, I'd imagine it was a pretty high percentage. Looking at the auction's page, it seems the lot covered just about every console you can think of, with complete game sets for several of the less popular or successful consoles.

And yet no one wanted to buy my Oculus Rift when I listed it on Game Gavel back in early April. <sigh>

Still, I can tell from that picture on the article he has some truly marvelous items in the form of vintage boxed consoles. I have to applaud his dedication to amassing such a collection in only sixteen years time. And apparnetly a good number of the games in his possession were still factory sealed, that's rather incredible. Would be very interested in learning how much he had sunk into that collection.
