So, there are some unused enemies in Phantasy Star II.

The least significant is the Vanleader, which is between a Van and an Aerotank. It was likely left out by accident.

Then we have two enemy groups that never had graphics developed for them. You can read more about them here: https://tcrf.net/Phantasy_Star_II#Unused_Enemies

What do you think about this? It seems pretty interesting to me.

Probably they were removed form the game in later stages (testing), so there was no point in removing all the data from the game, unless they desperately needed ROM space. I believe it was kinda common for games, especially RPGs, to have unused data left in the final build. It is always nice to learn about what was left out the games we like.

HYes, the fact that memory was needed can be a valid explanation about those unused enemies.
