Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

So a few notes now that I've seen the trailer:

It could be a decent film after all. At least in theory. Pearlman's voice is not as bad as I was expecting. The trailer threw a few G1 nods into the mix. Looks like they kept the models close enough that you could tell who was who. (Primal looks like Primal, Airrazor, Rinox, Cheator) the baddies look down right evil. Not sure what the focus of the film will be over all. Given that few details of the plot have been shared. What has me curious is how they are going to explain the Beast Wars in the film to begin with. Given that in the original cartoon those characters were sent back into the past via the Transwarp. Lot of stuff into the mix with this one.

The trailer was OK. Though it seems that Mirage will be played up as the young kid vs the overly cynical that he was in G1. They didn't show much of the movie unlike previous trailers that have aired during the Super Bowl.

I saw it on Sat.

It is a stand alone story that doesn't overly rely on understanding the previous films. Even Bumblebee (which is a good movie). The Terrorcon's live up to their names. The Maximals and Autobots really shine in this movie. What I also liked is how they treated the "big bad". With out spoiling it the film too much. I liked this version better than the story presented in The Last Knight. Also helps they took some cues from TF:TM which really brought things home. Over all a fun ride of a film.
